The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Good job, Rose! Nice to see one for the girls' side for once.

Sigh... Harrison Ford has a really nice smile, doesn't he?

Can't be as nice as seeing Superman, Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman shrunk down to gnome-sized creatures with squeaky voices. They're showing the "Kingdom of Middle Earth" episode of "Superfriends" again--help! Batman, confronting the Sauron-like character, announced, "The Bat-Force-field will stop your black magic!". . .Now they're looking for "the Magic Ring of Gandor". . .

ROFL!

So now what are you watching? I want to get to these Spider-Man DVDs soon but I've got some writing to do first. I'm vey close to the final draft of Pt. 2 of my article, I'm giving Pt. 1 a final edit now so I can post both of them over the next week.

Yes, Harrison Ford was a doll in his day ... not too bad, even now.

But I love his Han Solo ...

We've fallen into the habit of using, vey, series and hugh, around our house.

I'm listening to Gillian Welch

I know who she is!! I love her voice. Did you notice her very quick appearance in O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Thanks for that info about "Sweethearts of the Rodeo", Rose! I'll see if I can catch it on Saturday. SSQ and I might be going to see Garnet Rogers next Sunday at a Folk Festival over near Boston. He's the younger brother of Stan Rogers who was a well known folk singer from Canada. Stan died in a plane crash on the way home from the Kerrville Folk Festival about 20 years ago. Garnet was in his back up band, and has since become famous in his own right. He is a wonderful singer, guitarist, and fiddler.

It must be fundraising time on PBS. They've got Dr. Wayne Dyer and Loretta LaRoche on this weekend. Didn't find Soundstage.

Schoolwork got the best of me and I lost track of this thread. Argh! but thanks for all your welcomes!!!
I'm wondering... if anyone has watched the anime Bo-bobo. My friend sent it to me and it is officially the most bizarre thing I have ever seen. Summary: Fighting with nosehair. I think that says it all.

I guess everyone's getting ready, or at church; or sleeping in!

Yawn. Did not sleep well last night. At least I've got a solid hour before church-departure-time, so I don't have to rush to get ready.

Did you know that pool is only about 20 to 25 feet long? It's VEY small! I guess you can't tell by the angle of the picture, though.
