Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Good morning! Whoa...I slept in. Usually can't sleep past six thirty or seven at the latest, even if I stayed up late.
Lazy hobbit today! But it's nice sleeping weather...overcast and a bit cool...so I guess that did me in.
Hm...what to have for breakfast?

Morning! We slept in a bit but had a power outage this morning. Have been going through FR withdrawl. We'll be venturing out soon on our bi-weekly hunting/gathering mission. Big'ol would really like to buy a copy of Unfit for Command. If it were up to me, we'd buy it from Amazon. But he wants to go in to a *store* just for the principle of it (and to cause if scene if necessary).

Good morning! - I haven't watched the dressage yet, only a little in the night. But we taped it! Gonna watch it now.

Those rhythmic grunts I was hearing ... that's the horse, correct?Yes, it is the horse. There are two sounds you might have heard, one is snorting nose noises, and they may do that sortof regularly, but the rhythmic sound that happens on each stride particularly at the trot that sounds sortof like -blowing over the hole in an old whiskey jug- is actually coming from his ~sheath~. Stallions and Geldings will get air ~in there~ sometimes and it makes those sounds.

There have been reports of effective scene-causing over the last couple of years...for Ann Coulter's, Michael Savage's, Sean Hannity's, and other books. It's really quite amusing to me to hear of a manager back-pedaling all over the place, or the long-haired bearded multiply-pierced conservative mole in a particular unnamed store ensuring customer access to the Forbidden Fruit.

Whoa, I slept waay in. It's ok, this is the only day this week I'll get to do so. I've decided to try a different church tomorrow and the services start at 9:30... crossing my fingers that it'll be more correct for me than the other one.
Today, I'm going to the library. That's the extent of my plans.

I just got a note back from Major Charles R., and it has to be shared with everyone here.
--------------
Dear Hobbit Hole
I just wanted to write a short note thanking you for the thoughtful gift of the CRKT knives to me and my fellow soldiers of the xxx EN BDE S4 shop.
These folks have worked hard over the last 7 months to make a difference and it means a lot to them to know that have continued support back home. We have only the news which is not always positive.
These men and women are Reservists so they have left behind family and jobs and the life they knew to serve their country. Thanks again for the great knives and support.
Yours in Service, Charles R.
------------
The other folks also signed the note. I'll email the Major that we got it, and were thrilled by the note, and proud of their service.
