Nehi! I haven't seen that in years! Hey Rosie, they sell Vernor's too! I saw Vernor's at WalMart when we were in FL.

Rose, I just talked to David and he discovered the HEB store tonight. He called me from the store so excited! LOL! The boy does love his vittles!! He found that he can take a bus from his apt. to the store, but he has to walk about 3 blocks to catch the bus that goes back because of the Interstate. He just has to remember NOT to buy too much at one time so he CAN carry it that three blocks!

Did you see any other flavors of Diet Rite? The cola was ok, but I really LOVE the White Grape and Tangerine flavors! I know Wal Mart sells it in FL, is that where you got yours?

Thanks :D Thats the difficulty...I dont have any real antagonism towards the RCC, but most RCCers find that baffling, thinking I have some agenda or its because I have problems with the Pope, or some other politically correct issue. I found a spiritual home in the ACC, and get the feeling I would feel the loss if I returned to the RCC. Its a weird feeling, and can't be summed up as something that I have an argument with...yet it would not have occured to me to look in other places if it had not been for an ugly ugly priest back in my college days...and the lack of welcome when I tried to return there after he had been removed. That was the first break, but not the reason...does it make sense??? And even mentioning that I am sure will raise all sorts of questions in a person's mind. I know it would mine if someone were telling me the same thing.

I had one friend ask "but whats so bad about the Pope?!" It wasnt about the Pope. I agree with the Pope. But then the conclusion becomes that I am rebelling and "maybe someday I'll return, right??"

What pains me is this is indirectly affecting my child. When Hubby and I got married, we got married in the RCC, and we made a promise to raise our children in the RCC...its what we are doing, but we are being punished for it anyway.

At least that's what my barely healed heart feels at times.

Oh well, Ive babbled enough.

To me... it would be most important that the knife gets to the right hands that have use for the knife. If the logo doesn't come through perfectly then it is an unfortunate-- but secondary-- consideration. I would favor getting as many of them into service as possible, irrespective of the logo.

The hobbit-hole logo has served well... and has most importantly led to some deserving troops getting knives that might not have ever heard of us or our knife program... but the important thing is that troops get a good and servicable knife. We can deal with the marketing aspects of the logo at a later date. :-)

LOL!! Yeah, that's about the extent of my knowledge, too! I'll ask SSQ if $25 a week would be a reasonable price; that is, if HE would be willing to pay it. But then, he's the type who scours the net for those "try it for six months free" set ups, then just cancels the week we get back. Most folks would not know where to look, or even want to spend the time to look for something like that.

I think it would be a reasonable price for unlimited usage in a place where you would not have expected to be able to set up easily. I think LOTS of people would take advantage of it!

Yep! I think we discussed it last week when my family was down in FL. I remembered having talked to a Verizon guy about it the previous year. I couldn't believe they, or any other company hadn't set it up already.

Sounds complicated! I know there is a lot that goes into that type of experience and decision-making and it's not easy to deal with. I will pray about it and that you're able to work out the finances with your daughter. We can talk more about the RCC/ACC/etc. stuff elsewhere if you want--as a rule I try to avoid getting too deep into religious discussions on FR, LOL! But in any case my prayers are with you on that.

I think if you're in a good church now, being feed spiritually and feel like God wants you there, it doesn't matter what other people percieve. God puts people where He wants. You just hafta trust that He really does know what's best for you.

I understand your predicament as far as returning to your old church. Your faith isn't changed, but your attitude/comfort level has.

I was raised Methodist, and will always value my roots in that church. My family moved to another city, and we had to leave the church of my youth. 5 years later, we returned to the city of my youth ~ so, naturally, we returned to the church there. It is silly thatcommunion style would do such damage, but it did. The reverend didn't make a big deal about my being differnt (and in fact probably smiled inwardly because he *knew* there was nothing wrong - just different), and probably had compassion for me, but my peers laughed at me for taking communion "wrong." Still, I never went back there because it was no longer the loving family I had left behind so many years earlier.

Now, I will not go back to the Methodist church because I have found a home elsewhere, not because I have a problem with the church itself.
