The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Nope, I'm not doing that drive again. And why would I move somewhere without a Barnes and Nobles?

So, do you have a free "ad blocker" you recommend?

How DARLING!!

I got both my boys "supplies" boxes...with all new stuff. Joshua is so honored to be allowed his own pair of scissors and Matthew can't believe the neat calculator he got!

The Google toolbar works pretty well. Doesn't seem to cause other problems, either. http://toolbar.google.com

You're referring to pop-ups just on certain sites, right? 'Cause if you're getting ads even without visiting sites, you've got adware problems again.

Right...just certain sites.

My Ad-Aware works great. I run a scan almost every day.

The Google toolbar should do it for ya, then. It's a fairly quick download, too.

I like mine...and I'm really skeptical of any browser add-ins / plug-ins. Most of them cause more problems than they fix, in my experience.

Good for you! I wish more non-techy people were as conscientious, Rosie and I would have much easier jobs!

You're a peach! I'm downloading it right now, it's already almost done.

I like Google anyways...use it all the time.

Is that the school "uniform"? My little brother's school makes them wear the same sort of outfit. It's very cute.

Heh...on the other hand, I got twenty five bucks the other day for cleaning up a system for someone who was NOT as responsible...so maybe we should be careful what we wish for. ;-)

But I wouldn't wish those troubles on a friend!

Let's see... got my lunch together, my bag's packed... started the dishwasher, got meat out for dinner... got my errand-stuff in one spot so I can grab it and go when I get home - have to find my school keys... I think I'm good. Now the last fifteen minutes are all mine.

I probably could freep from work, but anyone could look over my shoulder and I'm not comfortable with that, yet. Plus they're libs and I need to get along with them.

I got the Google jobber downloaded...works like a charm! When I went to the website about the marine piper, it just had all these pop-up ads...when I went back, the google thing blocked them!

Thank ye kindly!

It is. He can wear any brand, light blue, red, or white polo/golf shirt, and any brand, khaki or navy shorts and slacks. He can also wear light blue or white, short sleeve or long sleeve oxford shirts. We went to Penney's on tax free day, and bought all of his uniforms. They had a vey hugh sale on Izod, so we got Izod everything.

I find it interesting that the Izod shirts no longer sport the little green alligator.
