The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Darn! I wisht I'd thought of that!

I will, though, now that you've reminded me!

LOL!! I shoulda reminded you earlier! One piece woulda fit in there easily.

I've got new rules for my computer use, starting Monday, the first day of school.

Freeping and checking email must be done early in the morning and be concluded whenever the first jedi gets up (around 8am central time). No more computer time until evening and the jedis are getting ready for bed (around 7pm central time.)

Rules are subject to being bent any time. But this is the "goal".

It's just that in the south, the cold, wet, miserable seasons are so much shorter.

Well, for us this year, just the cold part was shorter...

Mornin' folks.

Catch is...it isn't hard. So I'm afraid it coulda gotten smooshed in a soft envelope. I should probably get one of those little priority mail boxes.

Oooh! It always makes me feel so important (misguided, I know ;-D) whenever I get something in a priority box!!

OK...I gotta get off the computer, Joshua is up and wanting to go get donuts at the new donut shop down the street (next to Ron's Hamburgers and the Geeks that fixed my computer.)

The neighborhood is really booming! LOL

See you all tonight, or whenever.

I'll pay you back when I get the chance.

So...who's winning?

What equestrian events do they have?

Just one event, three parts.

Three day eventing is Dressage on the first day, Cross-Country on the second day, and Arena Show Jumping on the third day. Lots of great horses and good riders, the Americans at the middle of the pack on scoring.

Morning. Wish it was fall here, it's been way too hot for me. WNeighbor would probably laugh, but I don't like hot weather.

I think I overdid the walking a little yesterday. My hips are sore. Guess I'll be driving for any errands this afternoon, though I should be able to manage the quarter mile from the bus stop to the department.

Same horses compete in all events?

Which country tends to lead the scoring?

It's nice here! Highs in the low seventies, officially, but here it's around 68. Perfection.

I'm sore today, because I ended up with a blister. Why, when I've been wearing the same shoes for MONTHS - I suddenly end up with a blister...I dunno! But I'm half limping everwhere. Hopefully it toughens up so I can walk tomorrow...

Oh, good, it's going to be cooler today. High of 83; and the rest of the week in the high seventies.

I have to pack up my lunch soon... tonight I'm making chicken curry, enough for dinner and lunch tomorrow.
