The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I'm not sure...I just know that before I can go on any "S. Baptist" relief missions, I have to have some kind of training.

I really need to check in to it but I'm not real anxious to until after Steve finishes school.

"Pre-season...that means our subs are playing your subs."

LOL! True :) I'm interested in seeing how our new backup qb plays, since he's likely to replace Favre when he retires. Seattle's offense is pretty impressive so far.

That's a lot of travelin'! Business stuff?

That's interesting. I don't know anything about how that type of thing is run or what training is involved. Must involve a lot of different aspects--medical, psychological, technical know-how. . .I could see how that would take some training.

The Pack's defense looks pretty weak... and Couch looks like he still needs some "rehabilitation".

Yeah, I'm not happy with the defense so far, though I don't know how many 1st-stringers are in. McKenzie is out.

Denver, huh? That's in my neck of the woods... though I haven't actually been to Denver yet.

Deion Sanders coming back to play with the Ravens? Doesn't anyone ever stay retired anymore?

G'nad; correct, however, having had all three and driven all three, it often boils down to an individual truck - some are good ones; some aren't, and some are just better than the others of a given brand or year. Mine happens to be a Chevy at the present time.

I hope not--although on the other hand then I'd be spared of his commentary for a while. . .

The old VW bugs were easy to work on and maintain, the new ones aren't air cooled. I don't know as the old ones ever ran great but they were as reliable as all get out.

Pickups tend to be easier to work on than most cars, simply cause there is more room under the hood and under the vehicle to get at stuff. Used to be that they had less stuff on them too.
