Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Pork curry, and blackberry cobbler for dessert.
Bookstore, no, I've got Fruits Basket 4 on order but they haven't got it yet. Got "The Usual Suspects" on Bear's advice.
Pork curry... yum... that's what I had for lunch. I'm making beef stir-fry, whenever it cools down enough for me to cook.
Gonna go veg on the couch with a movie for a while.
It did take a lot of flour! :) I also think I used a little too much olive oil. I'm going to try going with 1/4 cup instead of 1/2 cup next time.
Cooking a corn on the cob now to go with my lasagna. Then I'm having a glass of white merlot with it.
It's YOU!!
Haven't seen "The Usual Suspects". If Bear recommends it I should check it out.
Tonight is the Packers' first preseason game--joy!
Well, I think so!! LOL
I once knew someone in college who had a Camero Berlinetta...dark blue with the word "Berlinetta" painted in shiny gold on the sides. it was a T-top. Fun car. The guy who drove it was probably about as non-flashy as you could find.
We're playing you guys tonight :)
I cannot contain my wild enthusiasm over the start of the football season. Woohoo. Rah rah.
Wish I got the Olympics, though. Watching 1 person achieve his dream while a dozen others fail miserably is my idea of fun.
I can tell you're planning on being a diehard Broncos fan! :)
Is that the team out here?
I think I'll become a rabid cricket fan, just to be weird. I can talk cricket with the Indian guys at the department.
Um. . .yes.
Cricket is cool, except a match can last longer than a Triwizard Cup tournament. Hmmm--wonder if Ft. Collins has a Quidditch team. . .
The old V-Dub was air-cooled...and if the air's hot, it ain't doin' a whole lotta coolin'. The car was great for its homeland, and does well in our own northern climes; but it will have difficulty in Dixie and Marlboro Country.
That said...up here the thing to do is get a "winter beater" if you can afford a second, not-so-fancy car (I actually have a covetous eye on a mid-80's no-AC minivan my uncle 's thinking of selling)...down there, I wouldn't sneeze at a VW for the same purpose (and maintenance is almost a snap!)>
or this?
or maybe this?
*waggles spam at the Hobbit Hole Dwellers*
Kids in the Hall!
I like the top one best! That's exactly what I want...well, I don't want the flames on the back windows like that. Just the front and sides.
The thing is, we could really almost afford a VW...and Steve could enjoy putzing around on it. They are pretty simple to repair?
He just took the jobber out of our F150 that runs that huge belt...you know the thing? He took it out, it was burned slap up. He replaced it with a refurbished one and it cost us 300 dollars. Woulda cost us an easy thousand if we'd taken it to the shop.

Only if they get down South then start bitching about how things aren't done like they were done 'back home'.
I-95 goes both ways! ;o)
