The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I have some... have not seen it yet due to the huge back log I have. Do you like it?

We got all the way to the foot of mt Doom and Pchan was all, "I thought you brought the one ring!" and I was like, "No you had it." So then we had to come all the way back.

The Y has an indoor pool. It's cool to be doing hydribocs watching the snow fall!

I'll have to ask Clare about Samurai 7.

"Ah, the wonder of tables! I secretly love playing with them."

LOL! That sounds almost as addictive as Tetris :)

The next thing I need to figure out is how to do borders. That's probably all I'll need to learn for this particular table project. Would be nice to learn more, though.

ROFL!

Speaking of which, as soon as I get some free time I'm going to try playing the Black Label FoR game again. And if I can't figure it out I'm going to start another game of Neverwinter Nights.

Hmmm Neverwinter, have not played that in ages. I should dig it out sometime.

I finally finished it a few months ago. Took a break from it after that but I've been getting the urge to play again. I have to restrict how much I play, though, because once I get into that game I tend to stay up all night playing it :)

I love it. It's very lavishly done. The voices, the art, everything's so painstaking; the update of the story is pretty well done... I understand both the budget and the cel count, per episode, is twice what a normal anime requires. It shows, too.

You should start in now, when only 8 episodes have been shown, so you don't have much catching-up to do!

Who's "Pchan?"

I call my oldest little brother P-chan sometimes... call 'em all baka, indiscriminately.

"You should start in now, when only 8 episodes have been shown, so you don't have much catching-up to do!"

On the other hand, having a lot of anime to catch up on can be kinda fun--gives me a lot to look forward to! :)

But on the third hand, if you don't start right away, the show might get licensed. And then you have Morality Issues.

I'll take that as a concession that my brilliant argument overwhelmed you, and go to bed. See you tomorrow...

Got another email regarding the knives through the Hobbit Hole website:
I am a close friend of another officer stationed in Iraq, LSA Anaconda. I noticed that he had a new knife (Columbia River) and asked where he had picked it up. He said that you shipped them to him. It is such a great gesture of your appreciation for the efforts of the soldiers stationed here in Iraq. I have been transferred to another unit in theater after 7 months and I would like to give a few of my NCOs/ soldiers something for their efforts spent with me. I was in a construction section designing projects for engineers in theater. I am now moved to the battalion S3 (operations) for the remainder of my tour. Are you able to send a few knives so I can present to them. If you are not able to send them, I would be happy to pay for the 4 knives & shipping. I won't be able to present an official award to them since I have moved.

Regards,
MAJ Matt

(I'll email the details to you, Winmag.)
