The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

"No, the whole premise is silly and it's very badly written. I'm the senior officer here and I haven't had a funny line yet. So I'm stopping it."

ROFL!

Don't know if anyone's supplied the answer yet, but LL, likely means 'Lower Level", i.e. basement.

Local public libraries have no dvds. Have not located the media section of the college library yet. I'm not holding out hope.

How was Idaho? You didn't miss anything exciting.

I'm waiting for the latest episode of "Samurai 7" to download. Seen that anime yet?

Well why didn't they say "basement"? Sheesh!

Sister made it to Sister's. They're bringing a laptop so I guess I can check in from time to time. They want me to bring cookies. :)

You might try requesting the public or school library to order things for you. My friend who was studying Tolkien at Marquette got them to add a lot of Tolkien/fantasy-related stuff to their library.

We haven't seen The Village or The Manchurian Candidate. Hope to see both in the coming weeks!

I thought The Village was ok, but don't plan to see The Manchurian Candidate.

I won't worry too much until the semester starts and we know if I actually *have* free time. This may be a moot point.

C'mon, stupid download... I want to watch this before bedtime. Another 40 meg...

It's a special treat, not a daily exercise mechanism.

Swimming and Hydrobics (water aerobics) are great exercise. Clare's gonna do hydrobics with me when the Fall classes start at the Y.

Heh, David misses out on Bonnie and Charley while in FL, only to get one when he goes home to Austin!

I'm gonna see if they offer something like that at school. If it's indoors, I can do it, but my English skin just burns in no time flat, and I'm not allowed to sunburn, it aggravates a nasty little virus I get routinely.

Oh, yeah, does Clare watch Samurai 7? That's my current "must download watch immediately" series. I love it, and it's going to be going on for months.

In fact I've got another 90 seconds or so on the download of the latest ep here...

How's the download coming?

Think I figured out how to do tables. Gonna try posting a test here:

Manga Anime Total
Kenshin $8 $30 $38
FMA $8 $30 $38

You can do tables within tables within tables, you know. If you want, and are lazy, you can structure an entire web page with nothing but nested tables. Some can have borders, others don't, some can have colors...

Ah, the wonder of tables! I secretly love playing with them.
