The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

NOAA is saying that Bonnie may be a hurricane by tomorrow morning. Kinda unpredictable right now.

Everybody stay safe. See y'all later.

If it were my space, I'd rearrange furniture, I can't stand having my back to people who walk up.

That's why I stuck a small convex mirror on the frame of my monitor at work.

can you recommend a good "free" adware remover?

Try Spybot and Adaware

I enjoy watching small hail, as long as I'm not out in it and my car is reasonably sheltered.

Wow, long day. Meant to leave at 2, but I was upgrading a secretary's pc and it took until 3:30. Then I had to go to the store for veggies and stuff. Now I'm doing laundry. I'm quite beat!

Oh, yeah, the one upside of doing the store today instead of putting it off was that I got cocunut milk. Chicken curry tonight! Yum! I'm going to try it over brown rice...

"Evening.

I'm gonna have to stop watching local news. Upcoming story: "Do you know how to pack a nutritious lunch?" Keep it to yaself, lady, and let natural selection take its course.

Heh... and what's nutritious for an atkins-type isn't so great for a rabbit-food-eater.

I don't want a nutritious lunch, I want one I can eat without leaving my desk, one-handed so as to be able to surf during that precious fifteen minutes.

Looks like it's "packing lunches for school children." Poor dears. The price of school slop - er - lunch is going up.

Uh-huh. Peanut butter sandwich and an apple, $75 cents a day, perfectly nutritious.

Heh. You could get arrested for bringing peanut butter to school, couldn't you?

I dunno. Probably. The public skools are nuts, anyway. I wouldn't want to be in them right now.

Hmmmm....so maybe if you brought enough peanut butter sandwiches, they'd kick you out, right?

All it takes is a plastic two-inch sword keychain, these days. It's a wonder there are any kids left in school at all.

Did you see that article about suspending kids for excluding other kids? In Kalifornia, I think.

Oh my. I'm home finally. What a day. I'm positively cross-eyed. Tomorrow will be no better.

Big'ol is a sweetie. He ordered out a yummy not-low-carb dinner.
