July 21, 2004 -- SOME classical music lovers became so annoyed with the yammering of a group sitting next to them during a free concert in Central Park Monday night, they stole a woman's sandal. "We got to the Great Lawn at 5:30 and scored a nice spot on the ballfield. It was a perfect evening of wine and good weather. However, at 8 p.m., this posse of stupid people showed up," one perpetrator e-mailed Gawker.com, along with a picture of the purloined pump. "The 12 of them proceeded to make the [classical concert] the background music for their chatter about jobs in publishing and 'media buys' and the Hamptons. This went on for two-plus hours . . . So when the Grucci fireworks were over, we quietly rolled up our blanket, careful to snag a lone shoe. At least one b- - - - would hobble out of the park [that] night."
From Gawker.com:
Is this your shoe? If so, that means you were in Central Park last night, blabbing about the Hamptons and your publishing job during the free concert. The nice strangers next to you stole one of your shoes because you don't know when the hell to shut up.
A new twist was his plan for a zero-tolerance policy against gang violence. Kerry would invest $400 million over 10 years -- split between funding law enforcement and offering alternative programs -- in fighting gangs. ...
Bush campaign spokesman Steve Schmidt said Kerry, a four-term senator from Massachusetts, had a record of voting against funds to prosecute gang activity. "His votes against making carjacking and gang activity federal offenses reveal out-of-the-mainstream priorities that will do little to keep communities safe," Schmidt added. full story

Which is shinier, the mitt or the face?
I got a chuckle when Edwards said he too had been conferring with foreign leaders who want a change. Drudge reported it today...Edwards Suggests World Leaders Want Bush To Lose
Here is another photo of Kerry and his shiny new baseball glove. Perhaps Teresa gave it to him for sitting still when he had his latest Botox treatment and face peel...
What does that pen mark on Berger's hand signal and to whom?
I could stand it just long enough to see the Breck Girl stare "lovingly" at Liz while she gave an answer to one of Larry's stupid questions. It looked like he was trying real hard to be interested to me.
No pictures of Liz's make over but here's the transcript.

Laird Hamilton is seen surfing a Tahitian wave in the new documentary 'Riding Giants'. Move over Michael Moore. With the director's controversial 'Fahrenheit 9/11' cooling at box offices after $94 million in ticket sales in about four weeks, a new wave of documentaries is headed for audiences hungry for more than standard Hollywood popcorn. Michael Moore arrives for the preview of his documentary, 'Fahrenheit 9/11,' before a mostly Democratic audience in the nation's capital on June 23, 2004. Republicans initially dismissed 'Fahrenheit 9/11' as a cinematic screed that would play mostly to inveterate Bush bashers. Four weeks and $94 million later, the film is still pulling in moviegoers at 2,000 theaters around the country, making Republicans nervous as it settles into the American mainstream. Yikes, she looks like a lengthy stretch of bad road. Did the fake eyelashes on her left eye fall off and adhere to her cheek?
Ha ha, more wishful thinking (and blatant bias) by the Associated Press.
The four-term Massachusetts senator avoided heaping all the blame on President Bush (news - web sites). Still, he said it was unfortunate that the White House delayed the commission's work and improvements to the nation's security.
This administration had an ongoing war between the State Department, the Defense Department, the White House people have been at odds," Kerry told reporters after a speech to the Urban League. "Everybody knows it. They'll deny it. But everybody does know it. And the fact is that it has struggled it has created a struggle that has delayed our ability to move forward."
At least Edwards is smart enough to try and cover his rear:
"We should not focus on blame," Edwards said during a brief news conference in Hartford, Conn. "Thousands of Americans died on Sept. 11. And it's very important for those of us in positions of responsibility to pay tribute to them and take action."
(and blatant bias)
You ain't seen nothin' yet, the snips above are from this AP story and doesn't bother to mention once that Kedwards is/was? on the senate intel committee. One can always count on good old Nedra Pickler to omit important facts.
Guess who's being profiled?
With extraordinary behind-the-scenes access, our 2-hour special looks at the lives of Washington, D.C. socialites, politicians' wives, and campaign operatives to reveal what it takes for a woman to survive in the pressure-cooker atmosphere of a presidential campaign. As our cameras follow Teresa Heinz Kerry, Senator John Edwards' wife Elizabeth, and other powerful women, we watch the drama of the yearlong Democratic presidential campaign unfold through the eyes of the women who lived it.
Cronkite is a big buddy of Buckley's. It must be the sailing link. In fact, Cronkite writes the opening to Buckley's just released autobiography. I got it yesterday -- it is really good. (I haven't read Cronkite's intro, though.)
Looking at that "frame grab" of Kerry it occurs to me that if he grew a beard he'd look like Lincoln, from the side. Of course, that's as close to Lincoln as he'd ever get.
Now, I can't imagine that he was stuffing his socks and pants with the monitor in the room, so I'm left to wonder how the monitors saw this and am inclined to hope that the sessions were videotaped -- IOW's I hope they monitored via tv monitors. hehehe
Nah, Kerry clueless? Surely you gest! Did you know he was in Vietnam?
Ewwwww. I need a moment to rid myself of that thought.
They forgot to peel off his smugness.
TerAYzah is "powerful" only because of her dead husband's money, which she can pour into various looney causes. Eliz. Edwards is not, nor will she ever be, powerful. Considering how little time either of them spends in Washington, the program is misnamed.
