Cronkite is a big buddy of Buckley's. It must be the sailing link. In fact, Cronkite writes the opening to Buckley's just released autobiography. I got it yesterday -- it is really good. (I haven't read Cronkite's intro, though.)

Thanks for that explanation. It's odd that Cronkite was the only liberal mentioned as an attendee of that silly old boys' gettogether, as I doubt he's the only liberal ever to have frolicked in the woods.
