The Hobbit Hole XIII - Let them pass! Let them pass!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

"You should probably go check in on Thursday. Air travel can be hard on ears anyway - I can't imagine flying with a sore ear!"

Same here--I have sinus problems and even the change in pressure going on a roller coaster wreaks havoc with them.

BTW I was at the library the other day I wanted to look for Kristin Lavrinsdaughter but I couldn't remember how to spell it to look it up--doh!!! Next time I'm writin' it down. . .

I'm not flying, I'm driving!

Oh, if Connie Willis likes the book, I'd better read it... you know, she lives in basically the next town over from where I'm going to be.

You showing the bothers FMA? Have they seen any of it, or will you have to start over?

I'll get better! I bounce back pretty well. Hopefully the novocaine will wear off in time for me to have another dose of the antibiotic tonight, and tomorrow I should be a lot better.

It's nice to have people worrying over me, though! And I haven't had any altitude problems in the past, other than a little breathlessness when we get really high.

Whew! That's what I figured but when everyone started talking about flying it got me worried you were in for a long flight.

Gonna have a bite to eat here--back shortly.

Send your summer up here...we haven't had one yet.

If it were't for Global Warming (TM), we'd've frozen to dead by now.

Hey y'all, I've put another book out on eBay... bound copy of Harper's Monthly Magazine, Dec. 1880 - May 1881. Check it out!

Mostly breaking up no-hitters in the top of the ninth only to lose the game in the bottom.

That doesn't sound very fun to watch! :(

I've got an hour to kill before my Monday night TV show (pro wrestling, hehheh!) comes on. Think I might watch some anime while I'm waiting. What you watching now?

Not watching anythings. The Cubs are on the radio. I'm finishing up dinner and I guess I'll putter about during the game.

Ah, practicing your golfing--good idea :)

Hmmm, a rerun of "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" is on, too. . .
