Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I can hear ok! And type fine. It's just that the left side of my face won't move.
Anyway, glad to get that out of the way before my trip! But it was the Monday-est Monday on record. Two medical visits, rain, no gas at the gas station...

Back from the dentist and unable to speak, eat, drink or anything else. On the plus side, it's also numbed my ear. LOL! Well, the dentist should have given you a couple shots of Novocaine to take home!
If you really still have an earache and ear infection.... Go get it looked at and treated... I've had plenty of ear infections in my life, and there is just no reason to suffer them untreated. Some types of ear infections will not go away on their own.

Oh, I went! The doctor gave me an antibiotic, even though she's not sure it's an ear infection (couldn't get a good look)

I only got this month's allocation of bookshelves. There are three more to get- along with a table and a computer cabinet. It'll be a nice room when it's finished (and I can afford it)- lotsa storage.

You should probably go check in on Thursday. Air travel can be hard on ears anyway - I can't imagine flying with a sore ear!
Heh...bribery worked. Brothers are coming over in a bit for dinner and anime, and will mow the lawn while they're here. Maybe weed-whack, too. They actually LIKE the darned contraption...
Oh...was gonna tell you something. I was looking on the internet for opinions on the newer translation of Kristin Lavransdatter - i.e. if it was deemed better or worse than the original, done in the 1920s (that's what I'm reading). I didn't really find any info, but I did come across the website of a guy who said he read it because his favorite book of all time is Doomsday Book, and he had read an article (or something, anyway) by Connie Willis, who said she LOVED Kristin Lavransdatter. Made me wonder if it's she got some of her ideas on medieval times. Funny connection, though!

I get the worst headaches when I go up in altitude. Without fail. They're awful. But two days (lotsa water and ibuprofin) and it's all over. It worries me that Jen's not shaking this cold. Moving across the country and starting a new school is stressful enough.
