The Hobbit Hole XIII - Let them pass! Let them pass!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Foraging? You mean you have to go to town?

I really love that about the old style neighborhoods. The 'service' areas were out of view. It is hilarious to see garbage day in the tony neighborhoods in town. They look just as crappy as every other neighborhood. What astounds me is when Real Estate agents hold an 'Open House' for other Realtors on garbage pick up day. TACKY!

mornin,
I am not really here. Just checking in from my mom's to see if I fixed her computer. Hmm, we came over to retrieve birthday presents. I ended up also putting together two fans, trying to hang a curtain rod, fixing the computer (which took all night) and ~the fun part~ going to the liquor store. heh, fixed the 'puter last night after two glasses of wine, and a frozen alcoholic beverage, yum. Maybe I should try that method more often? It seems to have worked!

The biggie was the 'puter. It would shut down completely and reboot everytime she tried to dial-up to the internet.

Oh, lovely. I remember hearing about that one - was it Bagel or something else?

You could try the joint supplement I give Bay.... has glucosomine, MSM, chondroitin... probably costs less than people stuff. $45 for a tub that lasts a month in a horse. just drop a few of the pellets in your breakfast cereal ;~D

dunno, I cleaned up 12 infected files though. She had at least 3 different problems: one trojan horse and two different viruses, and adware/spyware that she didn't install.

My mom uses the internet only for email. My brother, on thr other hand comes over here and uses her internet all the time. I am always cleaning up after he has been surfing her with 'puter. Wish he'd just get his own internet service.

Heh, I run that kind of clean-up on my mom and sibs' computers all the time. Now that I'm moving out, they'll have to do it themselves. Or get Dad to do it.

Right. :)

Crap! Another one of those smoke detectors is chirping. I hate high ceilings....good thing I've got my 10' extension ladder now.

Hate being on ladders too. If I fall and break something, could I sue the apartment people?

Well now I know my ladder won't leave a mark on the wall. :)

I kept waiting for my coffee maker to blow up, just like "everyone" predicted. Didn't happen. ;-(

Good news. Chelsea and I are lonely here. Ben seems indifferent, go figure.

Ha! Had to spend twenty minutes on the phone, but I think I've got my internet access ready to go. They won't put it in until the 3rd, though...

Good deal on the Internet access. You could probably get online even before the 3rd if you had wimpy dialup like me :)

I have the SP closing credits as my earworm for the morning.
