Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I wonder about sugar-free preserves? Like peach jam or something? Not sweetened with any thing... I'm confident I have a recipe or two at home. Remind me to look for them this weekend.

I wanna go back to bed, too, but I don't think I can get away with it here at the office.

Wish gals could lose as fast as guys...
But slow but steady still reaches goal eventually, so I guess I can't complain.
I'll be happy when I don't feel so lumpy, though. ;-) Now that I'm thinner, I almost feel like I look worse since it's more obvious where I'm carrying the extra weight. I have about fifteen or twenty to go, and I swear, I have about five pounds on each thigh, and another five just on my stomach. Ew...

I thought about you last night, at around 2:45am my time when I was suffering from indigestion and had to take a zantac! LOL I was pacing around waiting for it to kick in when I considered logging in and seeing if you were online.
I ended up falling asleep on the couch when I returned to my bed only to find Joshua had usurped my spot.

That would be great! Now that we're in the maintenance phase, I think a spoonful of sugar-free jam on a piece of low-carb bread every now and then would be tastey!

Why are you givin' 2J indigestion?
To: RosieCotton
Don't get me started...
I've found one trick that helps me a little bit. If I pack my lunch the night before, after I've eaten dinner, I can usually pack something healthy, and small-ish, whereas if I pack it in the morning I'll be hungrier and take too much food. Or something I shouldn't have... sigh...

I considered logging in and seeing if you were online. Wondering if it's OK to take a couple more Zantacs? I'd say sure.... ;~D

Well if it were the over the counter kind, I could...be these are already prescritption strength. I tried Prevacid and didn't care for it...Dr. said "Just give it time". Finally I said "Can't you please just give me the Zantac prescription?" So he did and I've been pleased with the results ever since.

I almost always bring leftovers, so I'm OK there...so long as I make sure I bring healthy snacks. Otherwise, I eat more nuts than I should. They're a good snack, but a little goes a long way...plus they tend to make me feel starving later.
But...I've been stalled since the beginning of the month, in spite of exercising and sticking closer to the diet than ever. I think I'm thinner even though I haven't lost anything...but gosh, it'd be nice to see that needle move! Keeping my fingers crossed that this will FINALLY be the week.

Well, I was not online to either help or hurt your indigestion! I was out as soon as it was cool enough in this house to sleep! (with the box fan)

You're sleeping with the box fan?
To: RosieCotton
When I'm dieting, I'm a pack-a-day gum chewer. Seriously, it's just one stick after another, alternated with a diet soft drink.
