Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

So what is the word on your dad? Any more information when he got home? How's he doing now?

Yeah, The Shootist was done between Music Man and American Graffiti. Wasn't that John Wayne's last movie? I think he was dying of lung cancer while making it; it mirrored his character in the movie, who was also dying.

He's fine! He's going to follow up with his doctor, but they really think it's just something in the muscles. He seemed happy enough last night. Mom made him take her out to dinner to keep him from getting on the treadmill and running. Everyone just sort of went to bed early, nobody was in the mood for talking.
However, the dental appointment was still the high point of my day yesterday. Only one cavity and I'm getting that fixed before I leave.

In fairness, it was the best dental appointment I've ever had. New guy, and I wish I'd been to him before. No pain, no disgusting substances used for toothpaste, no psycho assistant trying to put holes in my gum with those sharp things.

Hey!! It worked! So far, my recordings have worked! The one I recorded last night was even a bit involved (well, for me anyways...I just learned how to program a VCR!) One class ended on VCR 1 at 2:35am and another class I'm recording on VCR 2 started at 2:35am...

When our first one was born, SSQ made a 'side-car' for our bed. It was closed on three sides and open to the bed. That's where the babies slept. If they woke during the night, I'd just pull em over and start em nursing. When we both woke up again, I'd burp em, change em and put em back down! Made for a restful first few months, until they started sleeping through the night, that's for sure.

How about a blithering idiot? Is that good enough?
Don't feel too bad, 2J. I've come close to doing the same in the past.

A friend in NJ once went to the emergency room convinced she was having a heart attack. Turns out, it was a virus in the muscle wall of her chest that can feel the same. I'd never heard of such a thing! Maybe your Dad has something similar.
I'm glad he's doing so much better!

Well, I have called myself a blithering idiot many times...but not as many times as I've called Juilia Roberts a blithering idiot.

Possibly, or it may be a strained muscle. He works out a lot and that's entirely possible.
Sigh... I'm sitting here wishing we'd been able to do Animoot. Perhaps over a break sometime. Clare's supposed to be around more, how else can I find out about good new anime?
