Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, bitty girl finally got to sleep last night. It took her sleeping with us, using me as a pacifier. Every time I tied to put her down she was writhing as if in pain. However, as soon as I put her next to me, she settled right down.

Well, time to get a shower, and wake up elf-boy. VBS in an hour. Turns out, I don't have to teach 2nd graders, but I am helping out with the 5-6th graders. It's minor stuff, but I think the help is appreciated.
Pastor Woelmer and his wife are teaching the 5-6th graders, and they got a whopping 23 kiddos. They divided them up ~ 12 girls and 11 boys. Mrs. Woelmer has an aid, but Pastor's aid didn't show up.
On the flip side, my son's class has 9 kiddos, of which, 6 of them were in the same pre-k class ~ they know each other *really* well. I feel for their teacher! She has the six musketeers, LOL!

Today had better be better than yesterday.I hope so too! I am sure it will be...
Just checked my account...looks good.
I also did the first run of taping...didn't tape what I need because it's not offered, but I'll be able to see the time and hopefully channel on the tape and make sure I have it set up right for the future.
It did tape something...which thrilled me right off the bat!

By the way, I wanted to say thanks again, to you and everyone else who was here for me yesterday. It really helps. What would I do without the Hole?

I don't know what any of us would do without the hole Jen. Our friendships here as a group have a very high value. They are something worth preserving even at a very great cost.

When I first got that letter from the bank, I was so upset...it's nice to know I can come to The Hole and tell everyone and get nothing but encouragement...no derision, nobody calling me a bald-faced idiot. (Not that anyone else besides myself calls me that...but still.)

According to Suzi's post above I wuz wrong...I had to look it up. I just Googled his filmography! I did the same for Alfred Molina, the guy who plays the Octopus nemesis in Spiderman 2. I knew he'd been in that movie with Sally Field, Not Without My Daughter, and in Enchanted April, one of my favorite chick flicks. I also discovered he played the chief 'heavy' in Ladyhawke! It was one of his first movies.
