Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well then, let me have a sip! LOL!

I'll share!

Hey!!! I just got off the phone with Tom, Jill, Abby and Emily while they're driving across east Texas!!! They thought they were gonna make this a 2 day trip cause of the kids and dog. But, they said everyone has travelled *really* well and they were only 41 miles east of Dallas when we started talking!!! I'm only 100 miles west of Dallas!!!! Oh my gosh!!! They're practically in my drive-way!!

'Cept they aren't coming to my house. They're going to my mom's. They'd already made the turn south in Dallas by the time we got off the phone. *snif*

But, Abby and Emily were both *begging* me to come down tonight to see them. *tears* I can't, I have to work tomorrow!!!

Tolls roads are just plain wrong.

Taxpayers should get *some* benefit out of the throttlehold they put on our wallets. Building toll roads because they're basically "free" to the government is a cop-out. Raise taxes or don't, but you don't get it both ways.

We had a family here in town that lost their 3 year old when it got kicked by a horse. My heart aches for them.

Oh that's AWFUL! Makes me want to just go in and get my jedis up and just love on 'em...

What do ya do for a baby who ate too much? She nursed, then ate 5 oz, then nursed again, and then followed up with three more oz. all in a period of 1 1/2 hours.

She didn't get much sleep today either, first day ever in the nursery (for VBS).

So, she is exhausted and has an upset tummy.

I was going to water them today, but decided to wait until it was cooler in the evening. I've been told that's what yer supposed ta do.

That's odd. Here we don't water in the evenings because it encourages fungal growth and stuff. We water *early* in the mornings.

*grinning*

I try to get her back, but she's just soooo much better at it than I am. I've returned to my desk after a quick smoke break and found MJ wallpaper and screensavers activated on my PC.

I've found printed and photocopied pictures of MJ all over my cubicle, even over the faces of my kids, President Bush, etc. Anyone's photo who is in my cube is subjected to the MJ treatment.

And I've already mentioned the countless e-mails attachments containing bmp files of her latest "artwork". She even did a lovely wedding photo of me & MJ (using his nasty mugshot photo).

One day, I will have my revenge.....one day....

If the idiots running the local bus system would stop saving all the money they gather in local sales tax to promote "light rail", and actually put some of that money into the local road systems like they're supposed to, they'd have all the money they'd ever need for roads!

We do have that option...and I usually use it a lot. But I got behind when I went to WA and neglected to check it...

I'm glad my bank has the overdraft protection, but it still embarrassed and upset me.

I'm watching it like a hawk now...

You have *got* to be freakin' kidding? First Dallas, then Houston, now AUSTIN?!?!?

I am P.O.'d too as an old Austin resident! Bastiges!!!

Oh man! That sucks!

Why don't you just head out and crash there? You can always get up early and head into work, right? ;-)

Ugh!!! I'm sorry, but I'd skip work! LOL A character flaw, I guess! Which is probably why I'm in the bind I'm in...

Maybe you need an "anti-Michael" to get her back--something like, I don't know, the New Kids on the Block. . .

Rub her tummy or back - whichever seems to make her feel better. It's usually better if you hold 'em up in a sitting position while you do it.

Is the water still spluttering from your faucets? No improvement?

'Tis all fixed now. They had it back up around midafternoon, and we got our backup supply all refilled. Glad it's back on, I'm gonna want a shower before bed.

Hair is sacked out on the couch "watching" The Money Pit on TV. Poor dear, hope she feels better soon.

It's a four hour drive minimum. I'd get there about 3AM and have to leave about 5. Don't think I could do that. I'll see 'em Friday. :-)

Not even entire roads, just bits and pieces, basically new construction on existing roads. Parts of the Y in Oak Hill (290 & 71), parts of South Mopac, parts of US183 into Cedar Park... just plain ridiculous.

I always used a heating pad (wrapped in a towel) on Alyson's sore tummy. And I'd pull and push her legs in and out to get the gas bubbles out. Then lay her on her tummy to help get the rest of the gas out.

Worse comes to worse, I have always sworn by Anise Tea for gas pains and Chamomile Tea to settle tummies. I'd make up a batch of tea and serve it her in a bottle at room temperature. She'd have relief within 15 minutes!!

Worked MUCH better than the Mylicon Drops and tasted nice too. I'd add half a teaspoon of sugar to the tea for her.

BTW what was the name of the Michael Jackson character on that one "South Park" episode again?

That would be "Mr. Jefferson."
