Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I have a good feel for negative character. I can't always tell when someone's a nice person, but if I feel like he's a bad person, I'm almost always right.
Maybe it's because of my cynical view of humanity in general. I've started to learn to trust my instincts on people...

Very tall, very thin, long arms and legs, often with flail chests or pigeon chests (oddly curved breastbones).
They often drop dead because their aortas blow out. Nowadays doctors try to catch 'em early and monitor their veins.
Saw a documentary once where a med student was diagnosed, and started looking back in her genealogy ... found all these relatives who had died in their twenties and early thirties, back several generations.

Yep...when I read about Flo Hyman, I was just fascinated with the syndrome...read up a lot about it. Amazingly, most nurses know very little about it! We had a young man brought in to the ER that died on the football field from it (undiagnosed)...they brought him to our floor to await his family's arrival. I was the only nurse that knew anything about it!

Monty Python's "Life of Brian"... Never saw it. When it came out I thought it was sacrilegious, so I got all holier than thou about it.
I know that's hard to believe...
(I still want someone to put together a list of must read books/must see movies)
To: Overtaxed
You can say that again. This may go down in my personal record as the most Mondayish Monday I've suffered thus far.

Nope, not at all. That's why I've only seen it once a verry long time ago.

Well....I'm glad the news wasn't as bad as it could have been. Is he going to be up to driving you out to CO?
To: Overtaxed
I meant the part about me bein' "holier than thou" was hard to believe...

Do I want to ask what todding is? Should I even ask? ;-) No, you shouldn't ask! A polite person would say "poor dear was so tired, I won't poke fun at her for a sleepy typo"
HA!
