The Hobbit Hole XII - Tree and flower and leaf and grass

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Oh I just LOVE that last one with elf-boy kissing the bittygirl!!! The look on her face is just priceless. That's one that would look great in HUGH format!

"Praise Jesus"; I love it!

Been there, done that with 4! Thankfully, at that point all were past the baby stage; Joseph was 2. I took Clare and Joseph when they were 2 1/2 and 6 months once. GAD what a hassle! Maybe that's why I waited another year and a half before trying it again!

Many people condemned us...one of his teachers just critized me scathingly...said he was was gonna be a clingy child

Amazing how people want to put kids in a little 'behavior' box when seeing them at one particular stage in their lives. Don't they realize that kids go through stage in their lives? They are not static beings!

It upset me REAL bad when that lady said that...I think Joshua was like 18 months old! In my single days, a person like that woulda caused me to change churches...but Steve, being a steady sort, just said "Let it go...she's a moron."

Kinda prepared me for the altercation with the shrink...I had gone through an insult and weathered it...it took a bit of time, but I weathered the shrink situation too. We're still members of this church and there are far more good things about it than bad...

I believe the Enemy puts those bad elements in good churches to run off people. So when I started looking at it like that, well...that ol' Enemy can't get away with that with ME anymore!! I'll show him! He succeeded when I was young...but not any more.

The last one is one of my favorites too. I ordered a sheet of 5X7's and an 8X10 of that one.

Bear, when did I have that fight in Sunday School...with the psychiatrist...

Do you know when that was?

I'd like to go back and read about it...it's been a while back.

yer an animal...

Oh brother. You're not gonna believe it Corin but I didn't even *think* when I was postin' that! I was too sleepy and my phone had just rung waking me up. LOL

Thing is, I love how Mexican families cook out. Somehow, they make all the meat taste better than anybody I know. And they don't mess things up with a lot of side dishes. There'll be a little bit of Mexican rice, some guac and chips, tortillas and salsa on the table. Then, the meat starts comin' off the grill and there's always a couple of cuts of steak, fajitas (that's beef skirt steak for you who don't know beef cuts), serving size chuncks of tender seasoned brisket, lots of sausage - usually a couple of different kinds , hot links, pork steaks, and then a big ol' bunch of chicken that I don't have to eat cause there's *plenty* of beef and pork.

It's a veritable meat lovers paradise. I like the guac, salsa and rice too - and of course the tortillas and chips. But, it ain't like you gotta fill up on that stuff and only enjoy a small amount of meat. Man I love Mexican cookouts. And they always send me home a BIG helping of stuff good for at least 2 meals the next day! MMMMmmm..

Heh... not in the least. This elf considers eating meat to be one of the nicer things that God put here for her! :-)

Yesterday I just had lotsa turkey and broccoli. Long as I live by myself, might as well just eat the stuff I like best.

I haven't talked to Penny since the wedding! Hopefully she will check in this week!

I was kinda thinking/hoping we'd meet in Tacoma and drive up with you and Melanie to Seattle... If nothing else, we can eat at Ivar's, that is where we met Penny for the other symphony concert we went to.
