Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

How 'bout a tea cozy?
To: JenB
Does that mean you are only going to have one towel?
My room-mate Bryan in our college house (was a group house-no funny biz) only had one towel, and one of us would wash it for him once in awhile when it appeared to be able to stand upright on it's own.

Heh.... I am a bad parent. My kids had their first alcohol in teas. Whiskey, herb tea, lemon and honey. It would stop coughs in nothin' flat for Jill. I was generous with their whiskey.
Coulda been part o' the problem with Jill as a teenager. *mumbling at self*

Thanks. I miss hearing the birds in the morning. *Sniff*

Yeah - I saw that.
There's a few bad apples in any bunch, and apparently Bainbridge has some there. In a sense.... if you want to go looking for bad stories to print, you can find them. In general, I think there is a lot of troop support here, lots of military bases and military families, and military supported businesses outnumbering even the hippie peaceniks that are around..

Theres no chance that my follower could have made it, thought Alkhin, flipping back his hood to reveal a fine-featured face haggard with days-old stubble and dark circles under green-streaked hazel eyes. Rough-cut hair the color of deep russet hung to his shoulders and long articulate fingers adjusted the sack tied to his back as he pulled together some bearing of dignity after the moment on the beach. Casting no further searching glance at the gate, Alkhin turned his steps to the inside of the fortress walls, where the road from the east made a line straight to the heart of the city, the Market Square. this is part of it. Now he's in a tavern, eyeing the barmaid and Im trying to think of what will happen next.

Hey all! I'm here for a bit... [sip]
I saw the Bainbridge thing today. Disgusting. John Carlson was talking about it on his show too. This state embarrasses me so much sometimes. [sigh] [sip]

Two towels, I have a nice big fuzzy bath towel and then this new, smaller one, for guests or emergencies or the morning when my towel, as you say, stands on its own and walks away.

Where are you? Back here? In B-vue? Going south tonight? Did Dad go to Reno? I can't keep oriented as to where people are.

Nah... that wasn't it. My mom used to dip a finger in some wine or whiskey and rub it on our gums to supposedly ease teething. And it do anything to me... uh... ok... nevermind. :-)

Hmm... lucky barmaid... lovely hero you've got there.
Fantasy? Or a period piece?

Yeah....I really need a house.
To: Ramius
I forgot about that. I used JD on the gums for 'em too.
It worked just as well or better than any product *made* for that. Those just didn't work at all!
