The Hobbit Hole XII - Tree and flower and leaf and grass

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Some people have way too much time on their hands...

The price I'm finding for their basic cable is... $30, I think, so it is cheaper. I'm thinking of calling a local office and asking if that's really the most basic cable package they have.

I bet it is..... I just called here yesterday to see if we can get a cheaper package, and their most basic current package is about that much...

I am currently on Digital basic, at a grandfathered rate that is not that much more. Not worth switching.

I'm looking forward to the day we can pay for the channels we want, and not the ones we don't. I'd pay five bucks a month for Fox News, but it's not worth $30 for a bunch of stuff I don't want.

Good job WN.... Thanks for doin' what you do!

Thanks! The post office personnel appreciate all our efforts too! It is nice to hear that from them and I forget to pass it on sometimes. :-)

Well, not necessarily emotional impact... for example, one never knew when a toe ring might sneak into the package picture...

Cleaning screen now....

2J - When I was at the post office, I was tellin' 'em about our girl at the airport and realized I'd forgotten all about getting her a package ready. Can you send me her address? Or re-send it if you already did. I can't find it.

The postal worker I told the story to called another worker up when we were finished and told him too. They were teary eyed. I'm gonna take her pictures up there and show 'em when I take the rest of these packages.

I bet Rosie, like me, would have a little trouble with the heat down your way. It's been 80 degrees here for the last week, and that's more than enough for me!

Does anybody who was at entmoot or weddingmoot mind if I print off a few of the photos of our groups and include them in some of the troop packages so those guys will *see* ua?

If anybody minds, I won't. But, I was thinkin' it might be kinda fun for them to see us.

Not to mention I gotta have my mountains and trees.

I could do with less humidity, though. Been brutal these last few days.

Ummm... if it's one you know -- I can pretty much guarantee that you'd have the same opinion we do. He's made a name for himself at the college.

Our school has a lot of air force people. Shepherd AFB is here and people retiring seem to like to stay here. I don't get *that.* But, I guess they've raised kids here and stuff.

My boss, the aircraft maintenance instructor, the electronics instructor and 4 of the part time instructors are retired air force - just at my campus. It's the smallest campus. I like the atmosphere working with those guys.
