Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's threatening to completely take over the livingroom. You could name it "Nana."

I have some philodendron (looks like an ivy) rooting right now in a glass of water. I trimmed a couple branches off a plant in a restaurant we were at, and if I had a new pot to stick it in, they can be stuck right in the dirt.

That's right, you're praying a blessing on her neighbors.

I think technically to be a Redneck Woman the lights have to be permanently on the front porch... But Jen might not technically *have* a front porch at her apartment!

Yeah, that's right. Havin' a front porch does make it difficult to move the trailer when it's time to go...

Cable is much faster than DSL, and I think, about the same price isn't it?

Maybe the wife and I just need to spousal-moot in Texas and drop Luke off at your place on the way... That could work!
Hate to say it, but anyplace you'd wanna go in Texas ain't close to where I live though. Unless you ain't lookin' for *outdoor* scenery. :-D

Heh...
Speaking of plant names, though...long ago when I was maybe six, we bought two plants from a greenhouse. We ended up using cuttings from them for YEARS, and had plants all over the house.
So we called 'em Adam and Eve.

Thanks, both of you. I'm thinking I won't get phone service - for long distance, my cell phone's better, and surely I can do any local calling I need to do from the department? So cable makes more sense.
But if it's too expensive, I'll just get dial-up... sigh...

I've got a balcony...
I'm assuming the song you referenced is country music? I haven't heard it, anyway, and I do hear a lot of currently-popular music, you can't avoid it in the malls and such.

Yeah, that's right. Havin' a front porch does make it difficult to move the trailer when it's time to go... Last time I moved my trailer I just left the front porch. I think that was 21 years ago, reckon it's still there? :-)

What I wanted to say was "shut up old woman."You could say "Thanks for your input!". Means the same, but sounds a little nicer. ;o)

Yeah, DSL tacks on to my phone line, which for me makes sense since I don't have a cell (they don't work well here), and gotta have it; and I don't have cable TV. Otherwise, I'd vote for cable.

Heh..."Redneck Woman" (yes it's country) is not exactly what you'd hear whilst shopping in the malls.
Well, you might in Texas...or certain parts of Virginia...
To: Wneighbor
I think that was 21 years ago, reckon it's still there? :-) Prolly right next to the old washing machine and the tires...
To: Corin Stormhands
I've heard it here...
There are more country stations here than anything else.
And the morning DJ for the one I usually listen to on the way to work REALLY likes that song.
