Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

My mom and I are a bit confused about something.
We were looking at houses in Washington and some of them have 1.75 baths or 3.25 baths. I know what a half bath is, but I've never seen these other kinds.
My mom said a quarter-bath must be a closet with a bedpan in it and a three-quarter bath means they throw in a pitcher and basin! LOL!!
Can you clarify?

Okay, so that last one was a little weird even for me...it's "Flaming Sambucca" (I took some poetic license)

I don't understand anything on this thread. I'm really glad you said that. Here I was trying to get caught up... and it is feeling like I'm on some parallel hobbit universe thread where nothing makes any sense.
May I mambo dogface to the bananapatch?

some of them have 1.75 baths or 3.25 baths. I know what a half bath is, but I've never seen these other kinds. I can help here, I think.
A .75 (three quarter) bath is one with a toilet, sink and shower, but no tub. A .25 (quarter) bath is one with a toilet and sink but no bath or shower.
I think I'm right about that.

Rosie, I'm sure it wasn't the state of your house. As I said, I'm allergic to cats, and it is miserable to be stuck somewhere with them. I'm sure that's all that's going on!

I am going to take two aspirin and call you in the morning! Heh. You may be joking, but I took 2 aspirin and took a nap. Upon review of the thread, I find this was a good choice.
