Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Morning all. Got a slight break in the work schedule right now. My 10AM student appointment didn't show up so I caught up on the thread.
Man, comin' to work time is early...
Rosie, sorry to hear of your guest problems. Maybe you really will like her and possibly even enjoy the company! Well, maybe not, but I'm hoping for the best. If my brother put me in that situation I'd just do my level best to pick the girl's brain and find out all the scoop on her that the rest of the family wanted to know but couldn't find out! hehehe... after one night - she might beg to leave!!!
Sorry Hair... don't want to renew your trauma.
Any coffee left? Strong. Very strong.
Wonder where that student is? I am tired if working already - I've been at it almost 2 - 1/2 hours!

I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and I love 'em. But there's just something about the ocean that I love even more.
If I could pick up right now and have the life I want, it would be to live on the coast, run a junque shop for tourists in the summer and write in the winter.
I just don't know how to make that happen.

But there's just something about the ocean that I love even more. Now Corin - that does sound like a very elvish statement!

Ditto, only it'd be a used book shop for me. Either by the coast, or in the mountains. Probably mountains, I don't like fish.

Gracias!!!
Have I mentioned that I *really* loved the coffee in South America? I think it's pretty much the same as Cuban. Makes this air force coffee at work kinda taste like water.

I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and I love 'em. But there's just something about the ocean that I love even more. You know.... Here in WA, we have mountains and tall trees and desert and the ocean all ~in the same state~.

I love the ocean, to visit. And I love seafood...hard to get good seafood very far inland.
But I think home will always be somewhere with hills, at least. And lots of trees.

Yep. That would be mine.
The coffee we had at your house - I didn't remember it being abnormal or anything. It musta been right. I usually only notice watery coffee.
