Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Tree and flower and leaf and grass
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

No Amway, no MLM, and work at home via VPN.
And some travel ...

No, I only really noticed the "overtly Christian dating couple" and I think the marrieds... the Christian types, I hope, aren't being set up to look like idiots.
Heh, by the end of the night we were calling the eliminated team "Scumbag and the Naked Skydiver". Glad they're gone. Next just get rid of the loudmouths.
And how could TWO teams be so stupid? Haven't they watched the show before? The Yield could get interesting, though.

First episode was tonight, so you haven't missed much. It was on at 8:30 tonight on CBS... I think in the future it will be on either 7:00 pm or 8:00 pm Tuesday nights, on CBS.

Travel to interesting places? Or deepest Chicago?
Work at home=good. Do you have a highly-paid internship position next summer? ;-)

I hafta find a cheap basic cable plan when I move. Don't want to miss Amazing Race!
But if it's a choice between that and the cable modem, it's no choice, really...

Austin Time Warner requires you to have at least basic cable service in order to get RoadRunner. But, watch for a sign-up special, like free installation or 6 months of low fees.
I stole cable my first year off-campus at college...

Hmmm... I mean, I'm not listening!
According to the website, I can get just the cable modem for $40 a month. The cable - basic cable! - is almost the same. I don't think that can be right.

Oh, and I'm savoring the Zelazny shorts. Have read the title story, and also "The Man who Loved the Faeoli" - that's a favorite of yours, isn't it? - and one called... "Love is an Imaginary Number".
I think I've figured out why he's so good. The writing is just beautiful, and the stories are real in a way that a lot of SF isn't. And his imagery is so great. The way he puts words together!

EEEEGADS Rose!
I can comiserate. I need to grow up too. But, fortunately, I am the boss so no one tells me that ;-}
Jobs are kind of like going to the bathroom. When you gotta go, you gotta go.

The cable - basic cable! - is almost the same. I don't think that can be right. That might be right... the pricing for "Standard" cable (78 channels) and RoadRunner are the same here, about $40-$45/month. "Basic" cable here (24 channels, half of them cable access channels) is $10.50/month.
