Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

"Now for some Gilligan."

Cool! What episode?

Looks like TCM is showing sf movies all afternoon--"Close Encounters" is about to start.

"This means something. . ."

"Voodoo Something to Me"

Was that in there, too? LOL! They haven't started it yet. Right now they're showing a preview for "Logan's Run".

Doh! I misread your last post--you meant that was the title of the Gilligan episode, right? Was that the one where the voodoo doctor makes the dolls of everyone and the Professor tries to explain how it's just a superstition as meanwhile everyone's feet are on fire? :)

Nah...it's the one where the monkey is stealing from supplies and the Skipper thinks it's a voodoo spirit.

This is from the first season....back before Gilligan blew up all the flares. :)

Is that the one where the monkey throws the explosive plates at the end?

Nope. That's the episode where they find the plastique. This is the one where the monkey is stealing from the supply hut when Gilligan's on guard duty.

I thought to get in-state tuition, you'd just have to declare your permanent address to be in CO.

Heh, you'd think! But I have to do all sorts of things to prove I'm permanently there. Ugh, no fun.

I'm very tired. We had a cookout at a friend's house. I spilled the baked beans all over their carpet as I was carrying them outside. Then their more-obnoxious-than-you-can-believe friends showed up and I got put on brother-watching duty.

Ugh. I'm putting the bothers to bed and then we're watching "The Patriot".

I'd probably know it if I saw it again. I love those first-season episodes where it was black-and-white with the original song and they still had the boat. I like the one where they try to rebuild the boat with the temporary permanent glue :) My favorite episodes are the ones where other characters stumble upon the island, like the headhunters and the Mosquitos and the mad scientist. The ones where Gilligan dreams are also cool :)

Why do I get this image of the Dursleys' dinner party for their relative at the beginning of the third book/movie? :)

I think the Mosquitoes are actually The Wellingtons...the group that recorded the ballad.

I'd like to get the one with Harold Heckuba.

Yep!--I was just looking that up a few days ago :)

"I'd like to get the one with Harold Heckuba."

Which one was that again? I'd like to get the whole series on DVD. I did tape all the pre-Gilligan "Dobie Gillis" episodes with Bob Denver when Nickelodeon showed those--he was *so* funny in that :)

That was the one where they made Hamlet into a musical.

"That was the one where they made Hamlet into a musical."

LOL! I remember that one :)

Whether to be
or not to be
That is the question that I ask of thee. . .

I think the first one I ever saw was this one where Gilligan falls through a hole in the ground and in the process of trying to find him everyone else falls in the hole, too.

I like the one where the Professor thinks the island is sinking.

LOL! Another of my favorite ones is where they discover the totem pole with Gilligan's head on top, leading the headhunters to think Gilligan is their god. "Help! Skipper! Professor! Headhunters! Savages!"

Hehehe....or the one where Gilligan was supposed to marry that -uh- "large" girl.

You mean the one where Gilligan dresses up as a goddess to try to discourage the native king from taking one of the girls, but the king falls in love with Gilligan?

Another one I like is where Gilligan gets the bowling ball frozen to his hand by lightning, and when the Professor tries to fix it he accidentally turns Gilligan invisible. (I guess the Professor knew how to make Bowling Balls of Power :)

No....the one where the daughter and her parents land on the island and Gilligan has to fight a rival suitor. I believe the Skipper's wife played the part of the mother.

I like the one with the duck and Gilligan dreams he's Matt Gilligan and has to protect the duck.
