The Hobbit Hole XII - Tree and flower and leaf and grass

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Tree and flower and leaf and grass

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Got it on tape years ago on A&E. Hi-Larious!

Any way you can make a copy for me, Pretty Please? I'd be happy to send you a 30 minute VHS tape! It is one of the most entertaining descriptions of opera I believe I've ever seen!

A long expected party? THANKS!

SSQ and the kids gave me an MP3 player this morning. Now I'll have to learn another new technology! It's gonna be neat, though.

Funkling away the afternoon! Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!

I'm sitting here fighting a cold, so I'm just cruising FR, then I'm gonna do some more work on the wall sections for the house plan. We hope to have the sections and the floor plan done so we can take it to the town Building Dept. on Tuesday!

Strangely enough, I've never even owned the White Album, whether in vinyl or compact format! It even has one of my MOST favorite songs on it; "Fixing a Hole"! I'll just have to get it sometime!

Spiderboy has gone to vacation bible school all week. Last night, the church had an informal gathering so the kids could sing some of the songs they learned for the parents.

Except our kid. He was more interested in checking out the altar, the lights in the ceiling and the slideshow.

At one point, we noticed the microphone at the lecturn "dancing" to the music. Wanna guess whose hand was attached?

I'm fixing a Hobbit Hole where the dwarves came in
That keeps me from adventuring
where it will go. . .

Ha! I don't know if the fireworks bother them! I'll have to see!

They are completely confined now and are used to it. Took them a while though, they wanted to get out and run around. But they did in our strawberries by flying out and we're not wanting to give up the tomatoes!

So at least till the winter, they are confined.
