Thank you all for coming! And for everyone watching and participating from home via that camera, we hope you can enjoy the day ~almost~ as much as being there!
I loved seeing the original Star Wars on the big screen. We only went once. We got Mom to give us the day off school and everything.
'Cause it's still showing the last picture from last night... after it got dark. Ramius hasn't started it up again yet today.
Heavenly Father, remember the traveller,
Bring them safely home...
I know what song that's from...
lovely new digs... we'll be tuned in come the time...
yes, but I know your dislike for that particular artist...
Thank you g'nad! I hope and pray all our travelers have nice smooth flights, and a wonderful visit here!!
I've gotten over that. I don't like him but I don't hate him... I'm actually going with my mother to the next concert she attends.
Hey, you weren't around the other day when I mentioned Andrew Peterson. Ever heard his stuff? He's similar, only I like him.

It's awesome on the big screen! :) When I went to see the re-release I had forgotten what it was like seeing it on the big screen until that Star Destroyer looms over the screen in the opening shot. It looked *so* huge! That first movie was just amazing.
missed that... I'll google him up... anything you particularly like?...
*sniff*
His latest cd, "Love and Thunder" has a bunch of remarkable pieces. "The Silence of God" is wonderful. "Just as I Am" and "Canaan Bound" are also very very good. He has a way of invoking hymns in his lyrics, and his music is gentle, almost country. Nice theology, too.
Yeah, now imagine you'd only ever seen Star Wars on a 12" screen, and then bang. The first one came out, when, 78?
Thank you, kind sir! I wish all of our dear friends here were able to come too.
Yeah, then too! ;o)
Hullo Suzi!
Hey, a certain someone promised me all the way back in May that she'd be making more of an effort to be on thread... what're your family up to, anyway?
It came out in '77 but some theaters were still showing it into '79 around here--this one theater had it for like two-and-a-half years! Back then there were no VCRs and no cable (at least by me) so that was the only way to see it. I would've loved being able to see it on a 12" screen, too--I bet I would've worn the tape out inside of a few months :) As it was I had a record with much of the soundtrack and dialogue on it, so I played that over and over to the point where I could recite the entire script off the top of my head.
Speaking of which, I just put it in the VCR now :)
Did you ever read the novel version of the original? I liked that and the first "fanfic" novel inspired by the original, Alan Dean Foster's "Splinter of the Mind's Eye". Foster was also writing some of the earliest "Star Trek" novels back then.
Mornin'... [sip] <-- coffee this time
Lovely day again. If this weather holds... and the levee don't break... should be good times.
"Now that's VEY cool!! But you still don't have to like the movies, just the website!"
My brother requires me to like the movies, too, LOL! He gets really disappointed if I don't like something they make. His work on the website is interlinked with other stuff they do so it's sort of a team thing. Like for instance for DVDs he has to integrate the online interactive features with the website.
