Word For The Day, Thurday, June 17, 2004
Thursday, June 17, 2004 | Slip 18

Posted on 06/17/2004 5:37:05 AM PDT by Slip18

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today. Haven’t checked my mood ring yet. Y’all behave yourselves, ya hear? Principal JimRob is still out of town. I expect the utmost respect on this thread today. The Mods have been overworked lately.

The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer.

Folderol, also Folderal noun:
Pronunciation: Pronounced about three different ways. Take your pick.
Etymology: Probably fr. Latin

1) Impractical, unnecessary or excessive trimming of finery or effects: pretty, but flimsy or useless ornament : something that is unnecessary: trifle, gewgaw
2) A nonessential talk or action: piffle, nonsense

John F. Kerry, purveyor of non-sequiturs, useless prattling, and assorted folderol has led floor votes in The Senate to keep partial birth abortion legal. In his post-Viet Nam days, consorting with Hanoi Jane Fonda and reeking of rolled doobies, Kerry, with his sarcastic wit, became a droll foe of the establishment. Now, after divorcing one older flower in order to marry a richer one, he seeks to lead the very establishment he sought to destroy. It makes me laugh to see his supporters, like Tom Daschle, the elf, drool over this loser. Kerry looks like he was lying down when a door fell on his head, causing his skull to be permanently elongated. An odor fell upon the democrat party in 1993, and the emergence of John Kerry has done nothing to remove the stench.

Well, blue pleated miniskirt.
It admittedly was loose at teh back, but I'm told I looked smashing with my hunter green shirt and turtle neck on, my boots and hairy legs sticking from the hem of said skirt.
(Though I'd been looking for a kilt, but the local places that carry such do not have classical tartans. Drats!)
The sales lady had her eyes bulge out of her head when she saw taht.
I hammed it up and said I'd liek to buy the skirt.
(Step-daughter laughed, she thought it was hysterical, she did buy the skirt and said it fit well. I guess that's a positive thing.)
The Poughkepsie Galleria has a Frederick's of Hollywood, or did at the time.
Preacher's kids?
I'll never go shopping with them again.

No, the only way pasties are subdued is if they are under some guy.

A quick one, then I'm off to do another estimate...

Clinton wants us to buy his book-
He has always had the gall
To ignore the outrageous things he did
And focus on useless folderol

He did Monica "just because he could"
And he knows that it was wrong-
I'm tired of hearing about it
Can't he sing a different song?

Probably before. It looks to me to be an extension of Point4 that the Pope made to the Bishops, back in June.
