Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Evening.
I'm watching some Brits trying to explain cricket on Candid Camera.
We're expecting T-storms and possibly tornados tonight. Can I sleep through them again?

Okay, I've been meaning to say Happy Birthday to folks, but I've held off because I'm confused: how many birthdays are there in the Hobbit Hole today?!!! :)

Vin Diesel... well. He could read me the newspaper with that voice. *alas* He wasn't all serious- the guy has comedic insticts! Yeah, he reminds me a bit of Bruce Willis; doesn't take himself too seriously in the roles I've seen him in, except for A Man Apart, and I guess that's because of the nature of the story. We're gonna see it tomorrow night. Clare is at a sleepover birthday party tonight, and we want to wait so we can all go.
I read a review of it in the NY Times; they sniffed at it, so I reckon I'll enjoy it! LOL!

Why yes.

I know I wouldn't! Then again, we get some pretty nasty storms through here and I don't hear them, so maybe I'm lying.
Tornadoes scare me though!

Did 2J tell ya how I slept through all the alarms and the weather radio going off? The weather dudes on the Tee Vee said we had violent T-storms last night. We did?

Don't like that wacky-terbacky.
I still haven't found a dust gun for my Sevin dust, so I'll have to squirt it out of a mustard dispenser.
A local station is showing Airplane! tonight.

*Sigh* I think that's why my sister hasn't come to visit yet. I think that tornado in Wizard of Oz made a permanent impression.

As soon as I got hold of a CD burner for the 'puter I started a long-term ('cuz it's time-intensive, even without a life) project of transferring old family LP's to CD. Among them are 4 Potter stories (on 2 LP's) dramatized and narrated by Vivien Leigh that have been lying around various houses since I were about 6. I could just about recite those 4 stories to you.
