LOL... bi-annual event there isn't it? :-)
There isn't flooding on the Bosque yet. Seems like the Trinity and it's tributaries are my problem on my 281 route. East of 281 seems like flooding is pretty rampant on a lot of streams. Almost no roads in Somerville county don't have a flooded place. But, I would either go east or west of Sommerville whichever way I went. *sigh* Hwy 16 down to 6 looks like my best route.
Just raise a glass to Ronnie, I'm sure he'd understand your decision to stay home.
G'night, Ruthy!
Have a good night, and a hopefully not excessively interesting tomorrow! :) I'm in Chapter 18 now--will comment later. . .
Who narrates it?
BTW, glad to hear your Mom is doing better! I put her (and your family) on our Parish Prayer line today.
He must be really laughing at all the liberals being forced to say nice stuff about him when he knows they don't mean a dang word of it!!
I have... a couple, ackshuuuleee... :-)
Well Corin, I'm sorry your gubner didn't close your state offices Friday. But, I'm right tickled to hear just now that the Texas gubner closed our state offices.
You could have another one of those for me.
I look around here in da waterin' hole... and I'm really disgusted by it. People sittin' around chatterin' and playing pool and such... totally oblivious to the history happening around them. [sigh]
I did have some good quality chat with some of the other regulars, and that was good. They all seemed to get it, that there are things that happen that really matter, that this is one of them, and that Reagan's legacy is one of monumental importance to the planet.
But the later crowd is rolling in... and I can look across them and see a vast empty pool. My only hope is that few if any of them ever bother to vote.
Your wish is my command... oops... too late... just got another. I'll order the next one in your honor. :-)
It's a repeat of a year-old program. Old news...but it's summer and slow out there.
Precisely. I hope that is a good guess.
I am thinking that since Jill, Tom and the kids were in Virginia Beach for a month that they are probably in DC today. I can't get ahold of them of course - but Tom enlisted under Reagan. He looks at him the way we do here in the HH. I have a very strong suspicion that they were there lining those streets watching in person what we were watching on TV.
Puts a lot in perspective about my daughter I think. We may have our issues.... but my daughter is probably there, for the right reasons, of her own volition and carrying for 3 little kids to boot. If they weren't there today, I would bet my next month's paycheck that the family will be walking through that rotunda this week. It's just who they are.
I have much satisfaction in that I raised my kids right in some ways. And they are both registered to vote and will vote.
Thanks. I need it.
I didn't know any different. I don't watch much TV. Ya'll just caught my attention for a minute!
Not sure if you knew or not but Myranda was a delegate to our GOP state convention. Of course she only turned 18 just under a year ago. Will be 19 Saturday, but she got elected as a delegate just the same. The convention was last week. I am very proud of her that she not only registered to vote immediately, she was excited about voting in her first primary election and also threw herself into the electoral process afterward. Frankly, I think I did good with her!
Roger that. I enlisted under Reagan too.
Once a CINC, always a CINC. The effect he had on morale was something that you had to be there to see. It was night and day. Ronnie was so good for the services.
There are only too few leaders that inspire people to literally jump in front of a bullet. Ronnie was one. George W is another one. No question.
I didn't know that... very cool. Ya done good. :-)
Jill met Tom in '95. You have a good picture of his morale I know. Because of the CINC situation Tom would say he was bound by his oaths to speak no ill of the CINC. But, he didn't have to say it. He almost left the army in '97. That '96 re-election almost ran him out. Now he's glad he's stuck it out.
I know I've mentioned it on the thread but not sure if you were here when I mentioned it. Tom's last duty before they went to Germany was as a recruiter in Palm Beach, Florida. They went from Florida to Germany in September 2000. Voter registration was in Palm Beach County. They voted absentee. 'Member what happened to those votes?
Yeesh... I sure do. The bastidges.
