Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

While it's possible that this was it all along. I believe it just as possible that the condition could have changed today as a result of prayer. Prayer could also have led them to that diagnosis where they didn't see it before.

Good morning, everyone. I had meant to post this several days ago, but...No excuses. I keep forgetting, until now.
O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
--Walt Whitman
Thy task is done; the bond are free:
We bear thee to an honored grave,
Whose proudest monument shall be
The broken fetters of the slave.
--William Cullen Bryant
Hail, the victorious dead.

Which, north or south? "Carolina" points to two places. South? You mean there's another one? :)

Morning. Wish it were Friday. I kinda wish it were August so I didn't have to worry about this set of job issues. Maybe it'll go well, though I won't really know until tomorrow...
But the sky is blue, and that's good. And... I'm gonna try to be upbeat!

And you already answered my first question to everyone (female) who finishes - Moony or Padfoot...---I do like Moony a lot, too...but he seems more like a guy it'd be nice to have as a friend. And not that kinda friend...I'm really glad he's OK. And realizing it must not have been THIS book that msdrby was referring to when she mentioned the death of a good character.

I love that first poem, especially. When well read it just gives me chills every time, though I've heard it many times.

Morning, All.
Back from Bimini. Trying my hardest to adjust to reality again (if that is what we are having here, in Miami).
Caught lots of fish, got some drinking done, boat ran like a top, good weather...oh, the sea, the sand, the sky, the spray, the Bahamian thing, over the hill, in the bush.
Anyhow, back to work.
