Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

WN: thanks for the update; hope that Perk and the troops are okay and that the rest of the packages get to their intended destination.

Hair; enjoyed the pics of the beach house at low and high tides; cool marine wildlife pictures. That is a beautiful setting. Mount Ranier, simply grand.

The Torgo theme MIDI file is available here:

Thanks!--that's it :) Ah, the haunting music of Torgo's Theme. . .right up there with the Gamera Song. . .

You might want to consider some of the lower light type plants and flowers, like are found in the forest understory. The Conservation Department in your state may have plant lists of shade tolerant plants. They usually aren't as popular as the full-partial sun varieties but they are out there.

I'm back!
Had a side trip down the rabbit hole.
And I did not land an alien fighter craft on the deck of any aircraft carrier.

I noticed on Friday that the library had more than one copy of PoA, so I don't have to worry about it being out already. Should be able to get it first thing!

Corin; looks nice, I'm thinking that Ramius already has the limited edition Wild Turkey version. :-)

Seems like I remember Buck Rodgers saying that in the movie. . .

300WM:Got to admit, the new version has a 'crisper' look to the engraving, may even hold up longer. It's still my daily carry, the original edition. That is a good knife. Thanks for posting this.

*sigh* Just got in over twenty tough minutes on the treadmill, so I SHOULD be feeling good about myself, but tomorrow is weigh-in day and I'm pretty sure I've not only not lost, but actually gained. It's been a rough week for dieting since we had a long trip on Saturday and various celebrations ever since with the ordination and my littlest sister's bithday and such. I've cheated all weekend, or several times during the weekend, in any case.

I guess I just gotta remember is that sticking to it for the long run is what matters most, and if it takes an extra week or two, it's not that big of a deal.

I ended up making a crustless quiche-type thing with ricotta, egg yolks, zuchinni, and some cheese. I need something to take for lunch tomorrow.

Mmm...that sounds really good.

I'm planting some zucchini in my tiny 'ittle garden patch. Sure hope I get SOME out of it! I went out to the house yesterday and my sister and I dug up a bunch of soil / mulch from in the woods, to mix in with the almost pure sand I have here. It LOOKS better to me...but it's not exactly quality soil. We'll see!

Noticed Nosferatu is on tonight--I don't think it's fair TCM is giving Kerry free air-time like that.

Mmmm, the crustless quiche thing sounds yummy. I make a Sweet Potato Casserole that I serve hot, but then eat cold, as leftovers, when it's like eating a Sweet Potato Pie without the fatty crust!
