Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The family's dog was badly beaten during the robbery.

Frankly, that's what I'd do to the perp and the idiot who 'jokingly' offered to pay him to kill the dog.

Is 6:45 okay?

Yeah, but anything past 7 and the bread's not gonna be warm!

Well, since this is probably right up your ally and since I don't know where to begin to look...I need a radio, 300WM!

I want this radio to be an AM/FM radio (clock with alarm would be nice, but not essential).

I need it to also be a programable storm alert radio with S.A.M.E.

And I need it to be RECHARGEABLE, something I can keep on and in a dock most the time or something...my biggest failure with storm alert radios is I run down the battery and never have a replacement on hand when I need one (happened the other day).

Less than $100 would be good.

Any ideas?

My current one, that I keep plugged in and the battery ran down, now has a new battery that I keep taped to the top...but I would like a radio that I didn't have to worry about that battery being there! And this one is just a storm alert...alerts whenever there is a storm almost anywhere in OK...I would like to be able to program it to be a little more precise. It doesn't have a radio and we have a great radio station here 87.7 FM that plays whatever the local news channel is playing...channel 6 here in Tulsa. So I could hear the news guys and the storm chasers on the radio. They are much more accurate than the NWS...they go down to the very city block the storm is at.

I found myself sorely lacking in nessessary items with this last storm...I didn't even have batteries in my flashlights.

See ya Corin!

I'm logging off too, in a bit. Steve gets home an hour early lately, so I'll log off and be off for the rest of the weekend likely.

Just did a little more work in the garden. Planted one 'mater plant, but I think the ground is too sandy...I don't have much hope for it. I have one more plant and plan to buy another two or three...I'm hoping I can get some dirt from out of the woods at Dad's, which I'm thinkin' would be better than what I have.

On the bright side, the sage has a few new leaves, which I'm taking to mean it's gonna live. Woo-hoo!

Get a bag of compost and dig it in around the mater...that's all it needs! That, and some fish immulsion now and then...

I dunno...it's really pure sand there! But you can buy compost for not too much?

What's fish immulsion, precious?

I am sooooo hoping I can get SOME tomatoes! I love 'em...love 'em love 'em love 'em.

I'm also going to attempt cukes and zucchini. You'd laugh if you could see this little tiny spot where I'm hoping to grow these things! But I want to try, in any case!

Compost in a bag is really cheap...you can get it at just about any garden center.

Fish immulsion is just that...immulsed fish! It comes in a bottle, stinks to high heaven. Dilute it in a can and pour it around the plant now and then. Think of what the pilgrims did! It's the same idea.

Gotta go...Steve is home.

Ok- I am such a happy camper. Soooooooo happy.

I didn't have to redo all of my data! (pinch me, it's just too good to be true!)

Now all that's left is to make pics for my report.

Speaking of which, OT- which Mac OS are you using? And what exactly do you need to do? (I know a few image tricks.)

I dunno....9?

I have to put together 5 chromatograms (a total ion chromatogram + chromatograms of 4 different ions) and put them into a Word document. I can get the chromatograms in MacQuan easy enough, it's getting the image into Word that I was having the problem.

Well...the study director wanted a *.jpg that he could insert, but after I copied the image to the clipboard I couldn't find an equivalent of Paint to paste it into. So I pasted it into Word for him. Hope he doesn't want to do any more editing on it!
