Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I really think that the "DU'er" syndrome and their divisiveness will ultimately get bad enough to threaten civil war again someday.

It'll be short, though... we have all the guns. :-)

But they will have Hitlery, her FBI files, and RAT judges and media that will look the other way. Look for some judge in Podunk to outlaw guns the same way those RAT judges in Joisey think they've made queer marriage the law of the land everywhere.

I think the klintons have enough dirt on every Republican in congress to silence them. That's why the minority RATs run the senate with illegal rules that the pubbies are too scared to challenge.

The klintons tried to pull off a coup with the 2000 election. They'll pull out all the stops in 2008, because they don't intend to ever leave if they get back in again. But they just don't have the firepower, unless there's a UN or EU army for them to "borrow" by then.

Well, the good comics shops in town usually carry gaming stuff too, so they'd be good places to find out about active LARPs. I suspect he'll find a lot of notices posted on bulletin boards around campus, etc.

Hmm, for that matter, have him Google "Austin LARP"... Austin is a very "online" kind of town!

Morning! Tis Friday, all is well with the world. And my mother's even in a better mood, or was for the three minutes I saw her before I left.

Hey Rosie... Friday's my weigh-in. I wasn't sure what the scale was going to say this week, I've been pretty good, and exercising like mad, but with the weight-lifting I've been doing, I thought I might have added muscle-mass.

I was down 2.5 pounds! And the middle number changed! That means I'm now at the lowest number I've been at since starting this diet. Maybe I'll get to wear those size 10 jeans this month after all!

Congratulations! And I bet with all the weightlifting, you've lost even MORE in inches. Good job!

I've been stuck at the same number for a bit. :-( But...I think it's related to a certain Auntie being late. On the other hand, as soon as I lose even one pound, that second number is gonna change...that'll be nice! And I've lost a little on my waist and hips even though I haven't lost pounds, so maybe I shouldn't be discouraged.

Well, I tried on the size 10 jeans today. I might have been able to zip them, but I wouldn't have been able to breathe; but they're closer to fitting!

I think I have lost more on my upper section, my arms seem thinner to me.

I have two pairs of tight jeans that I was able to wear once upon a time. I'm using them as a gauge. They both SAY size 12 but are smaller than some of the 10s I've tried recently, which makes it confusing. *sigh*

But in any case, I can still use them as a gauge of where I want to be. Right now...I can pull them up, and if I reallllly wanted to I could zip 'em...but there' no WAY I could live in 'em.

How did women a hundred years ago manage to not die, wearing corsets?

Sizes are so confusing! All I really know is when I'm smaller than I was.

Thus the terms "vapors" and "fainting couches."

Scarlet O'Hara had a 17-inch waist...
