Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...That none have seen but we alone.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

NEXT Entmoot, I gotta remember to bring what I think of as lembas...though even my own siblings disagree with me. They think they're more like wafer cookies or some such nonsense!

I am off home, ladies and germs...no 'lectricity so no freepin' so I'll see you tomorrow when I drop by my mom's house...or sooner if we get re-connected.

PS: I have all my perishables from the fridge in coolers of ice...my frozen food will likely have to be cooked tomorrow. Have to get the road grill heated up!

We've had pretty good luck with frozen stuff staying frozen as long as the freezer wasn't opened during the outage too much to let cold out.

But then, our outages all seem to happen in winter when it's cold out!

Well, I have now sat here all morning when I should be doing other things... Like having a good time! (not that the chat on the thread hasn't been good!)

ecurbh and I are going to bathe horses, Sonya is coming over to visit 'cuz it's too nice out today to be workin' (she says), and we are going to give horses baths and then ride.

Everyone have a nice afternoon!

Troop Support Bulletin

I had a bit of an issue come up today with one of the troop support packages I mailed out May 3. This package was to the guy who took Tom's place in Baghdad, Perk. The only marking on the returned package was "undeliverable." I have been very concerned.

That platoon's time in Iraq was extended until October the week after my s-i-l returned to Germany in December. Several weeks ago they were sent forward to Fallujah when the push into that area became intense. After several hours of calling I finally reached my daughter to ask what she knew. They have heard nothing either. Jill thinks Perk is probably okay because they would have heard something from someone if he wasn't. But, she isn't sure why the package wouldn't go through either. Perk and the platoon have received a couple even since they were sent forward to Fallujah.

Hopefully, the war has interfered with postal deliveries and this is nothing. That's what Jill seems to think anyway. She is going to get Tom to do some checking tonight if she can to find out more. I will let you know if I hear something else.

It's probably a javascript issue..... they may have disabled it at your office.

He is working up a straight html version right now real quick that should work maybe.... because we predict more than a few poeple may have issues with java.

At any rate, this is what you would have seen ;~D

We'll bring them in to that sunny area right in front here to bathe them... Or we'll just sit and hang BA's at you all afternoon while we sip cold beverages.... the plan is still in development.

Well, I'm not too concerned since I plan to watch the wedding from home.

I can't wait to see what everyone is wearing. I hope nobody wears the same outfit as me!

Later folks.

Hehehe... thanks for linkin' that thread... oh, I could have some fun.

Thought of you for some reason today as I refrained from asking the wacko liberal whether his tinfoil skivvies were too tight. Honestly, I've never met anyone who thinks that it's possible Cheney wants us to be an empire before...

OK, I've added a link to the homepage for a non-javascript version of the webcam. See if that works
