Film legend Audrey Hepburn has been named the most naturally beautiful woman of all time by a panel of experts.
Three Australians featured in the first 10 out of 100 beauties, actress Cate Blanchett, who came in third, singer Natalie Imbruglia and model Elle MacPherson.
Princess Diana came in 12th.
Hepburn, the star of Roman Holiday and Breakfast At Tiffany's, topped the poll of beauty editors, make-up artists, fashion editors, model agencies and fashion photographers who were asked to choose their top 10 beauties from the list of 100 compiled by the drinks firm Evian.
The women were chosen for their "embodiment of natural beauty, healthy living, beautiful on the inside and out, with great skin and a natural glow to their personality, as well as their complexion", Evian said.
Hepburn was joined in the top five by current US film star Liv Tyler, Blanchett, Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie and the fifties icon turned princess Grace Kelly.
"Audrey Hepburn is the personification of natural beauty," said Elle beauty director Rosie Green.
"She has a rare charm and inner beauty that radiates when she smiles. Her skin looks fresh in all her films and her personality really shines through as someone warm and lively."
More than 76 per cent of the beauty experts who voted in the survey mentioned Hepburn in their top 10.
The survey also showed that while 32 per cent of the icons placed in the number one spot by panel members were blondes, 22 per cent redheads and 46 per cent brunettes.
"People who are confident without a scrap of make-up and look healthy, happy and glowing, seem like natural beauties to me," Eleonore Crompton, of Heat magazine.
I, being a dufuss, still don't know how to post a pic...
Can you find a good full-body shot of Vera Ellen for the wolves?? I'm curious to know the consensus.
Uhhhh.....no. :^)
Excellent eye, my man. She's in the Hall of Fame.
Sorry folks, the results are in. It's none of those beauties. I was married to her and she died in March.
And the eye candy continues! :-)
Yes, that's Sophie Marceau or, as my wife calls her, "That woman from Braveheart you drool over."
Try #1
Ann-Margaret MUST be in the list!
I've created a monster! (me)
Good job!
I first saw Vera Ellen when I was a young teenager. She was in some movie with David Niven, IIRC.
I was in astonished awe of her perfect and beautiful legs, which the movie featured prominently. Though I was only 13 or 14 at the time, when I saw the movie I understood that I had become a man.
To remind me. *tag* Some missions require new skills. Only took me three years. Duh
Audrey Hepburn, one of the best. She ooozed class and had her inner beauty outshone the outer beauty. We should all be so lucky!
That's another lady who ooozes class, inner and outer.
Sorry for your loss.
Dang! I should have previewed. Needed to remove the word had from the second sentence.

I don't get it...
Just LOOK at women like Grace Kelly next to the recent chicks - NO comparison!
I'm only 40, but where's Janet Leigh, Priscilla Lane,
Vera Miles, Stella Stevens and
yes, Maureen O'Hara!?!?
I'm talking REAL women, not plastic anorexics with bad hair and fake noses!
Well, as HLL stated earlier: "For the record, I think their list is totally wacked."
He's right. Half of those women aren't on the "Top 500,000,000 Most Beautiful Women" list. I see much prettier women whenever I go to the mall.
