~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Thread XII~
May 14, 2004 | bentfeather and poets of The Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

You're welcome Feather. Frankie Laine had a heck of a voice.

Thanks, Miss Feather,

Reflected in my poems you may find a consistent hope or conceit that we have a purpose here, other than simply for God's amusement.

From what I've seen of monkey cages, we aren't all that amusing.

Awwww. Great poem. You certainly get love when you get a dog. Those are some old oldies you've left for us this morning. Thanks.

Like oysters, we’ve a pearl inside,
A soul has found a place.

Neat!

*singing, Lit - 'my own worst enemy', horribly*
"please tell me why
The car is in the front yard and I'm
sleeping with my clothes on
came in through the window last night.."

*snort*
Had to come in through the window to avoid the couch, it's watching the front door.

LOL!
Laughing at my misfortune with evil furniture.

Have all kinds of odd furniture here at my place, like the miracle self rolling desk chair.
Sometimes it rolls away when you go to sit down, and sometimes it rolls into ou.
Othertimes you're typing and you get dragged away from the keyboard by the chair.

I wish I were a tiger fierce
with stripes and brilliant colors
since I am a Lioness bold
a Barefoot Belvedessa Gold
with the temper of hurricane
the heart of a thunderstorm
the eyes of a Griffin wild
an mystery of a Mata Hari...
