My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

I Think Continually of Those Who Were Truly Great

I think continually of those who where truly great.
Who, from the womb, remembered the soul's history
Through corridors of light where the hours are suns
Endless and singing. Whose lovely ambition
Was that their lips, still touched with fire,
Should tell of the Spirit clothed from head to foot in song.
And who hoarded from the Spring branches
The desires falling across their bodies like blossoms.
What is precious is never to forget
The essential delight of the blood drawn from ageless springs
Breaking through rocks in worlds before our earth.
Never to deny its pleasure in the morning simple light
Nor its grave evening demand for love.
Never to allow gradually the traffic to smother
With noise and fog the flowering of the spirit.
Near the snow, near the sun, in the highest fields
See how these names are feted by the waving grass
And by the streamers of white cloud
And whispers of wind in the listening sky.
The names of those who in their lives fought for life
Who wore at their hearts the fire's center.
Born of the sun they traveled a short while towards the sun,
And left the vivd air signed with their honor.

Armed Forces Day
To all who bravely go to war who hold our flag up high there are no braver souls then you who for your country die
The greatest gift you give your life you lay on the line for freedom to remain free there is a cost indeed it's blood and guts and guns it's fight onward for freedom to hold through God's great lands
to keep freedom free and out of evils hands we see the horrible inhumanity of man kind to man
Make no mistake war the task master hard from sobbing widows and mothers' gray - those who gave their sons away to fatherless children wondering why their daddy went away
Their daddy fought for freedom he gave all he had his life he did lay on the line we fly the flag half mast
If the fallen solider could be heard here's is what he'd say it was my duty, I did my job let freedom ring across all lands and proudly raise our flag.

Good afternoon to all at the Lair! Hope you're having a fabulous weekend so far.
Sure do miss getting to spend time with y'all. Been a bit crazy around here lately. A cup of that hot coffee and a couple of those chok-lit donuts will sure hit the spot about now. Maybe they'll tide me over til we leave the hospital and get to grab some supper. Maybe I should slip a couple of those donuts into my purse to sneak to Petey's aunt.....we all know about hospital food, don't we? *snicker* I'm sure she'd love a snack!
Have a great weekend, y'all. My thoughts are here at FR with everyone. *HUGZ* all 'round!

Howdy feather!
I'll be sure to pass your message along to Aunt Clara. I'm sure it'll brighten her day.
We're surprised by her positive attitude. She's taking this better than we are. LOL! We're all hoping they won't find any signs of stroke, that any problems she's had are simply those that come with her age.
Petey's getting ready to kill me. LOL! It's soooooo hard to pull myself away now that I'm here. It's been too long since I got to spend quality time with everyone. *sniff*

Just came back from an "Armed Forces Day" display at the local NG Camp. Had some great working WWII eguipment there. I'll have to get Snippy to post the pictures.

Thunder, a light misting of rain, tennis ball sized hail between Port Jervis and myself, but that went by quickly.

Quack Quack! Guess what, it's raining now as I type. Crappy weather.
Could not go out today and sit in the back yard. The fiddle head ferns are growing by leaps and bounds-must be 4.5' now. Huge. I love them.
I love the smell from them when they are still drying out from a dewy night.
