Morning everyone, Happy Memorial Day.
Been down in the Keys a couple days with Jeanne and the kids.
I managed to get up on water skis the other day, first time in about 10 years. I'm sure I looked ridiculous, a 56 year old graybeard being pulled along on a rope, but I'm absurdly proud of myself. OTOH, I can't believe how many different muscles are sore.
It wasn't that way when I was 16!
Good Morning All; woke up to a brisk 53 degrees, front must have gone through, beautiful blue sky, Ol' Glory waving proudly, "God Bless America" on the church carillion while we were walking Gypsy on the north route. LSA has some weeding on tap, I've got some final tillering on the pony bow. Had BBQ last night and brought enough home for a second dinner. BTW, LSA wishes to correct a previous post of mine, it was "soil conditioner" not liquid fertilizer. sigh.
Sam, got to thinking last time I tried that was about 1971 on Lake Powell. Decided then and there that drowning worms was more in tune with my skill set.
Rosie; sounds like a great moot, nice to see the pics.
Wow! Certainly ~someone~ had a camera and we can see for ourselves!
Excellent!
I think I know about those different muscles! I got up on skis about 3 years ago for the first time in 20 years. I was initially shocked that I could still pop right up out of the water. That lasted about 10 seconds before my muscles were screaming, "What the h*!! are you doing to us!" I think I skied about 500 yards before I was looking for an excuse to crash!
One of my co-workers and family had taken Myranda and I out because Myranda wanted to learn to ski. Of course, being as stupidly prideful as I am, and with the friends all being surprised that I could actually ski, then I had to prove to them that I could ski on one ski. I did. But, that only lasted about 100 yards before I was lookin' for an excuse to crash again! LOL
I loved it. But, I paid for it for several days. I am stickin' to my long time fitness program of pushing my bike out of the garage now! :-)
It's hell gettin old, ain't it, Sam! LOL! I don't even want to THINK how much I would hurt after a day on water skis!! It has been at least 30 years since I was up on em!
