Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Maybe a degree in Horticulture would be more practical?
To: Overtaxed

Maybe a degree in Horticulture would be more practical? Reminds me of an old bad joke.
Teacher: Johnny I want you to use the word "horticulture" in a sentence.
(Johnny thinks a long while.)
Johnny: You can lead a "horticulture" but you can't make her think.
ba dum bamp!

ohfercryinoutloud...I just got an email about
REQUIRED (emphasis theirs) "Evacuation Training."
Apparently it's gonna take them an hour and fifteen minutes to learn me how to march my @$$ down two flights of stairs...

Careful.... Don't be ~too~ good at running out of the office quick. You don't want it to look too ~practiced~. ;~D

If you announce that there's a tornado outside, usually everyone goes running outside to see it. Wonder if they've tried that? :-)

That would happen here, because we get tornados once every five years or so. Nobody's really sure what to do when one shows up.

If you announce that there's a tornado outsideHehehe...one of the guys that came over from NC said that once (before I started working with the company) they had a fire alarm go off so everyone went to their fire- meetin' place and then the tornado warning went off which meant they were supposed to go to their indoors tornado shelter.

Last time one touched down here - I think in March - all but one in our building went out to look. It was pouring rain too. The one hid under her desk. I was out in my pickup listening to my HAM radio for the stormwatchers reports.

Hmmmm..... That would be confusing.
Again, the pickup would be a good choice for me. LOL
