Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

the wedding cake of Khazad-dûm.Hmmm... somehow that cake just says to me, "overcompensation."

I bet my shameful weight-number is worse than yours. Though in another three pounds the second digit will change and then it'll be better.
Of course, I'm almost proud that my starting weight was 225, because it's nowhere near that bad any more. (I was looking at an old pair of jeans the other day and wondering how I could have lived like that.)

Well, I hope she is enjoying it too.
I did read your schedule and I know what you said that ya'll were doing on Friday.
Remember that my whole original plan for coming a day early was in case Dona needed some help with something. If things happen, that offer is still there. Only "helper" item on my agenda for that day is picking up OT. So, while ya'll enjoy time with ecurbh's family if Dona has a crisis - CALL ME!

Wedding cake can still be FROSTED white. Ain't that good enough? Heh...
My friend had almond cake at her wedding. It was very good, actually. Better than the usual white cake.
But chocolate is tops.

September is my least favorite month here, usually... weather should be getting cooler, and instead it's still going over 100 routinely...

We started playin' backgammon in July of last year. Lot's o' stuff has happened since then.

I'm about to have a second digit change, too. One more pound...
But I'll be more excited when the next second digit change comes up. I'm still quite a way from goal.
But yeah...you've come an INCREDIBLE way. Considering how impatient I'm gettting at times...I'm just in awe of people who had much more than I have to lose and achieve it. You're in the homestretch now! That's gotta feel great.

I just have to pay attention, once I reach my goal, to stay there. Losing the weight's been really hard, I don't want to have to do it twice.

I feel really proud. Coworker got pepperoni pizza, from the good place, and I didn't even take one slice. But I'm going to the movies tonight, so I need the carbs for popcorn.

Popcorn sounds like an excellent use of carbs!
I'm home...my little sister is here. She's watching Lion King. Yay. But she wants me to rent ROTK later, so I might just hafta have some popcorn later myself...

No yardwork?
I'm thinking of leaving early so we can get an early movie. Then I can still exercise and write this evening. Got to wait for my sister to call, though, and talk it over.

Sigh...I was planning on doing a LOT of yardwork...but the sky let loose as soon as we walked in the door. So much for my half day. But at least I'm home, right?
