Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A sudden tree or standing stone

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Ah well, this is what you get for short notice. Sounds like the SuziQ family is going to have a hard weekend...

Rosie, I've got to go to bed. If you come up with anything, I'll be checking in before work tomorrow hopefully - otherwise, you should have my email address? Or I can just wait until after work. I'd like to do this, if we can.

I just did a questionaire on the Da Vinci website and found...it's uncanny, I tell ya!! LOL

Your Favorite Drink is a an Au Lait flavored with Caramel Classic Syrup.

Taking life as it comes is what sets you apart, and you have the ability to bring a new perspective to any situation. People around you know they can count on you to be aware of what's just around the corner.

You have an appreciation for the best life has to offer, but are never pretentious. Your honesty has earned you lasting credibility.

Evenin' all.

Back from what was supposed to be an hour meeting with staff at the pool. Instead I had to go an hour early and stay an hour late so we could clean up from today's break-in.

Yep, the idjit bastidges unbolted part of the fence, broke the deadbolt on the snack bar and trashed the place. I reckon they thought we were already stocked for the summer. So nothing was stolen. Police still came and dusted for prints. Got most of the mess cleaned up.

Just remember if'n you read about it in the news that "they needed killin'" is a valid defense in the south.

See the wheat in the foreground there? - I stopped and picked it on the side of the road there by Wollochet where they used straw for erosion control last fall. Had seed in it.

I love wheat. Used to love the wheat fields most in Eastern Washington but we never get to see it here.

Jeepers Corin.

Only thing more revolting from the young set this week was when I went to that annual cemetery cleanup day... several headstones had been toppled recently.

I'd shoot them right where they stood, I'm telling you.

Amen brother. You have my bow... or an alibi, whichever is most needful.
