Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Athwartships, like Nelson! None of this modern fore-and-aft!
<laughing> And now the controversy is over wearing your baseball cap forward or backward. Same stuff, different day, and there is nothing new that is under the sun.
Is that the chelengk?
And how did he get to wear his "number-one scraper" with Killick about?

I saw MacBeth earlier this week. Remember why MacDuff was able to kill him?

OK, long story short, MacBeth was told no man born of woman could kill him (apparently Shakespeare didn't think of the risk of some woman offing the dude). MacDuff was "from his mother's womb untimely ripp'd", not born in the usual way.
It's OK; MacBeth needed killin'.

You'd
love the books ... I just finished
Treason's Harbour this evening, amd I'm already dying to get
Far Side Of The World.
It's an interesting exercise in writing ... one big novel broken into multiple overlapping arcs and further divided into individual novels.

My high school homeschool co-op Shakespeare class had way too much fun with that. Probably half of us were C-section babies and we all decided to inform our mothers that we were "not of woman born".

Skipping ahead: if that ain't Serkis pushing past Frodo, arms full of pumpkin, I'll eat my...
...entire supply of cocoa puffs.
Might do that anyway.
Good night, everyone.
