Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, if you're always are busy on Memorial Day weekend, that rules out us ever going to the Veterans Day Powwow...they give a cool honor out...they admit a distinguished Native American returning solder into the "Kiowa Black Leggings Warrior Society". I'd dearly love to see it but it's too far away for OT's visit...
This year it's a guy returning from Iraq...

Actually, I probably won't be available on the phone. I will be out with the ministry and likely as not my cell phone won't be on me. We try to avoid calls other than from spouses or kids while we're out in the field ministering. I will miss ya'll, but it's not a time for me to be even distance-mooting.

We have obligations in ministry every year on those weekends. I always have to have someone to tape the Indy 500 for me. Usually PurpleQ's mom does it for me but I forgot to remind her when I was there last week!

Well, you're doing the Lord's work...you're a good sort.
I know you probably won't get the chance, but if you do, give us a call!
I'm off! Going to bed now...see ya later!

The Virginia High School Sports League manages everything. Their policy is that an athlete must be a "student in good standing at the school he/she represents."Frankly,,I'm surprised Michael Farris hasn't filed a lawsuit against them yet.

Gypsy has decided it's more 'comfortable' yeah that's it, more 'comfortable' on the couch now with LSA. Hehehe....kitty was making herself comfortable on your chair.
We had a pretty kewl light show and some heavy rain.

Anything else you wanna do, OT? Nope....that sound like a pretty full weekend. You sure I'm not running Steve and the Jedis out of the house?
To: Lil'freeper

It was that warm a week ago! But now...it's been raining for days, which tends to cool things down. *sigh* I'm beginning to forget what sunshine looks like.

Oh my goodness, that sounds delicious! What a clever idea! *blush*
But I can't take credit. I saw it somewhere...can't recall where. And it sounded good, so I figured I'd try it, even though the few times I've had eggplant were not very encouraging. I'm glad I attempted it!
I think zucchini might be good that way, too...except that it's a lot wetter than eggplant, I guess. Unless you chopped out the seeds and blotted it dry and maybe even broiled the slices before cooking, I suppose it'd turn to mush. But sauteed or steamed zucchini with spaghetti sauce and cheese might be good as a side dish. Hm...
I'm almost tempted to get a spaghetti squash to try one of these days. Last time I had THAT I didn't like it, either...but maybe it just wasn't prepared right!

Ooh, yes! That should be good for a week's worth of walks - we have a treadmill set up by a tv so I pop in a movie and watch while working out. Right now I'm watching "Miracle". It's a really good movie so far!
At least it's not Monday.
