Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I like his eye roll and the air of helpless bemusement --- "They have a cave troll." As if to say, "What the *&#% ...?"

He says it would be like stopping to ask for directions when lost. He thinks he ought to be able to fix it himself. ;~D

I snuck home early. Went to the bookstore briefly, came home. Have seen some Kenshin. I'm not going to bed until I finish a disk - my sister will kill me for it if I do.

One of my favorite lines too... :-)
In fact I've started using it at the office. It works. Most people get it. You know... when you're in a meeting and somebody comes up with some impossible project with totally unrealistic deadlines... "ooh... they have a cave troll..."

I snuck home early."Where have you been to--sneaking off and sneaking back"? :)
Anything interesting at the bookstore? How's the new Kenshin? :)

No *new* cave trolls around here either. Just the usual suspects. Pretty slow day today. Waiting for stuff to happen.
I'm sure everything will be OK.

hehe... Glad you're in a good mood tonight!
I had a slow day too. Included not only working at home but also lots of time relaxing in the yard reading and a lovely unplanned nap. *yawn*
Summer vacation is shaping up nicely judging by today. I'll be sure and keep reminding you how much I like it! :-)

Yeah, I read a little at the bookstore.
Whoa, I'd forgotten quite how much I love this. The animation is so rich... and the story's getting really really good. One battle after another...

It is really great animation. I've been very impressed with the episodes I've watched so far. The writing is also very good.
You have mail.

LOL!
Gotta love the old cartoons.
Wonder why they don't make 'em like that anymore.

Not to sound trite. Everyone serving in all the military are deserving of such respect and honor. Just can't help cheering one of our own. It's that attitude thing - ya know! :-D
