Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I dunno, Fedora. Sounds like I'm alphabetically challenged!"Tell me, then, what state is high in the middle and round at both ends?"
"I don't know: what state is high in the middle and round at both ends?"
"Ohio: O-HI-O! That's a joke son, ya get it? Yuk-yuk-yuk!"

I think I broke the link by posting the pic :) It'll probably come back later (elsehwere the site says, "Q. Whats wrong with the animated gifs? They don't seem to work. A. Its because geocities imposes a bandwidth limit, and whenever that limit is reached, they shut the page off. Hence, you can sometimes see the GIFs and sometimes you cant. If it doesnt work, then try again a few hours later. But trust us when we say that they work."). The main page of the site has links to a lot of neat stuff:
Tricks 'n Flips
I was going to buy an instructional video with a lot of this on it for $50 but now I see it's online free, LOL!

Can't be the origin, no way "Battle of the Planets" was pre-1940s.
Hi, goodbye, it's been a long day. Went to the bookstore, they didn't have any of the things I was looking for. About ready for bed. Yawn.

Cool horse-riding pic! Ecurbh isn't being chased by Ring-wraiths in that pic, is he? :)

Dang... now she's renting out my car... :-) *smooch*
So, now Ruthy and I don't *have* to rent a car? You're letting us use *your* car!!! Yea!!!
Okay, I promise, I'll drive. I'll make Ruthy use that blindfold and I'll do all the driving! :-D
[sigh] Just try not to take it over sixty in first, OK?
Honey, if you let me use you're car, I promise I won't have it in first gear long enough to get it up to 60. Won't be in 2nd, 3rd or 4th too long either! :-)
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! :-)

Drinks should not have names. If it ain't straight-up it's not a drink. It's a dessert.

The final episode of Angel is over now Oh, shoot, I missed it. Did any "special guest stars" make an appearance?
To: ecurbh; JenB
Ecurbh, on your tagline:
"Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo"
Doesn't that translate, "A star shines on the hour of our omlet"? :)
