New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Yeah, that's what we think too. Also happened right in front of the house of a (20 year old) kid that was picked up a couple of weeks ago for doing several thousand dollars worth of vandalism with a BB gun. He and his mom heard it all happen.
We wuz encouragin' the mom to use it as a "teaching moment."
I'll run for office if ya think it'll help!
Well, we know Jr. likes us. We also know he doesn't think we're "cool."
Plus, let's face it, we know he looks at us as a big source of his stress...you know...we had Luke...we let Nana move in...etc....
I think that's usually the case. Unfortunately, you can't overcome bad owners most of the time. Thought about getting a pellet gun for when they get in your yard?
ELF WIMIN' FER PRESIDENT!!!
I've considered it, for them and the squirrels.
But, it was a big step for the Mrs. to consent to Jr's paintball gun. I got a long way to go in the firearms issue.
I ain't brought it up since my brother-in-law's mom shot herself.
She don't eat tortill-lliyas with them ray-lenos does she? I shoulda known I was gonna have trouble with Myranda's dad when I married him and he didn't know what a tortilla was. *shaking head* Oh, the mistakes of our youth! Course it weren't that big a mistake... I got this awesome kid!
I'm askeered the RATS are gonna run that orc woman...
So if I claimed my evil neighbors were dealers, the Feds would take away their Rottweiler? I'm going to have to mention that to Mom.
Our dog goes back to the vet today to make sure his wounds are healing right. After two weeks, they finally stopped oozing. In a year or so the patch in his coat will be grown back out.
Ok, so I say "tortilla" right - but why aren't llamas "ya-mas"?
Oh my.
I think all kids are gonna go through that time when the parents aren't cool. And everything that can't be helped is gonna be the parent's fault. That's why you've got that support system in place in the youth group.
Interesting though... when you get through this... he'll think you're pretty cool again one of these days. Cause you're still there after all this crap.
Bein' a single mom I had a tremendous help by the youth leaders too. Our youth pastor had an awesome wife that was as much a part of the youth leadership as he was. Between the two of them they really took Myranda under their wing. Since we lived so far from town she'd spend weekends with 'em when the youth had lots going on. Now, because of them she has a real good idea of what kind of relationship she is looking for when she decides it's time to marry. She brings up lots of topics of conversation about how their relationship worked and things she has to remember. Those are things I couldn't teach her because there weren't no relationship there. Man, how many single parents miss that opportunity?
They are- down in South America.
AND MANY OTHER ELECTED OFFICES!!!
we gots the ovaries to see it all done!
Actually I'm not sure who got the dogs. Might have been county animal control. But they didn't take them because he was a dealer. They took them because he was dead.
The previous court case just required him to build a better (and escape proof) pen.
Good morning. ;~D
It's been interesting because all of Jr's close friends are in the youth group. He doesn't "hang" with anyone from school (although he might talk to some online). If he didn't want to play football, we'd send him to his mom's school with his buddies.
But football is important enough to him to stay where he is. I just wish he could make the connection that the reason we're so hard on him about his grades is so that he CAN play football.
Uh, I meant 3726 to be for you.
Hmmm... sympathies. I don't understand those thought processes. But, I keep hearin' there are those that have 'em.
Frankly, I would be fearful NOT having firearms around. I gain a sense of freedom living alone because I have firearms and know that there may come a time when they are needed. Unfortunately that isn't something that someone can be convinced of easily when they have an aversion to the notion. *sigh*
